Reggie Evans, Jr.
About Reggie
Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
Florida’s 2029 class is absolutely loaded with talent and Evans Jr already projects as a top national prospect in the 2029 class. I was so impressed with Evans Jr’s relentless motor as he seemed to never stop moving and making plays happen. With long strides on drives and in transition, Evans Jr is tough to stop in the open floor and when he’s able to get to the lane off the dribble. An efficient player, Evans Jr doesn’t force the issue and gets some easy looks by his consistent activity and movement. Also flashing 3-point shooting ability with a wing 3-pointer off movement, Evans Jr can score the ball in a variety of ways even as he’s playing up two age groups. When our 2029 national rankings drop in the Fall, Evans Jr will be near the top.

Likely the highest level prospect in the program, Evans is a high level scoring wing with excellent size and length. The freshman shows a strong feel for the game and the ability to score at all three levels, making him a tough matchup for defenders. With his combination of skill, instincts, and pedigree as the son of a former NBA forward, he has significant long term upside.

With a handful of 2029 prospects in attendance, this gave me the opportunity to see some of the top 2029 prospects in the country. Evans certainly stood out with his long wingspan and wirery frame that didn’t prevent him from getting his hands dirty by fighting for rebounds and defending multiple positions. Evans Jr played hard, didn’t force the issue and had good body language throughout the camp. When you combine those skills with intriguing offensive flashes and a frame that should fill out and you get a potential top player nationally. Florida’s 2029 class is stacked with four guys all with a serious case to make the top 10 of our national rankings when they release in the Fall.

The son of former NBA forward Reggie Evans, the freshman is a scoring wing with size and length who really knows how to play. Evans has good strength and can score at all three levels. He finishes through contact, is a capable rebounder at both ends and can guard multiple positions at the defensive end of the floor.
