Minnesota Freshman Showcase Preview: Centers and Forwards

Sunday September 13th at the Hopkins Royals Athletic Center Prep Hoops is hosting the Minnesota Freshman Showcase for 2030 freshman boys basketball players. Fox played with Team Hudson 2030 this past spring and summer and is an improving front-court player. Standing Fox has good size and length, and Fox appears to have a good motor and hard worker.      [player_tooltip player_id='2435275' first='Henry' last='Hanzel'] is a six-foot-six-inch 2030 forward from Jordan and played with [program_tooltip program_id='2075431' first='D1' last='Minnesota'] 3SSB. Hanzel played varsity as an 8th grader, has good length and has agility to play on the perimeter offensively and defensively.     [player_tooltip player_id='2970743' first='Makario' last='Solomon'] is a six-foot-six-inch center from Minneapolis North and played 15U with [program_tooltip program_id='2075681' first='Minnesota' last='Magic'] Trevor this spring and summer. Solomon has soft hands, looks to have some touch around the rim, and decent quickness. Solomon has broad shoulders and good size at this age already.     [player_tooltip player_id='3679706' first='Joshua' last='Crawford'] is a six-foot-five-inch center from Maple Grove that in the one game I got to see him this summer was a very active interior rebounder, offering ability to finish in the post and in the room towards the rim and ability to stretch out on the perimeter to make shots.     [player_tooltip player_id='2840613' first='Austin' last='Posl'] is a six-foot-five-inch forward from Alexandria that is long and lanky with room to grow into his frame. Posl runs the floor well and looks to exhibit good court IQ defensively. Posl length makes him a high-volume rebound and a potential shot altering player in the lane.     [player_tooltip player_id='3679700' first='Cole' last='[player_tooltip player_id='2842770' first='Schmoeckel' last='']'] is a six-foot-four-inch big, strong forward from Stillwater. [player_tooltip player_id='2842770' first='Schmoeckel' last=''] can score inside, rebound, move the ball, and is a threat every time in the interior with his ability to defend.     [player_tooltip player_id='2848608' first='Carter' last='Neutz'] is a six-foot-three-inch forward from Annandale and played with [program_tooltip program_id='2422572' first='D1' last='Minnesota Gold'] last spring and summer. Neutz displays a good combination of perimeter skill as a shooter and around the basket finishing skills. Neutz has shown ability as a scoring driver from the perimeter and shows good energy on the glass as a rebounder.     [player_tooltip player_id='2830527' first='Callan' last='Bain'] is a six-foot-two-inch Byron forward that can stretch the floor as a power forward with his outside shooting ability. Bain is an active floor runner, rebounder, and solid passer. Bain works well at the high post and shows good touch around the rim.     [player_tooltip player_id='3558039' first='Everett' last='Stark'] is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 forward from Wayzata that offers good versatility at the front-court position. Stark can play on the perimeter offensively and a bit defensively, has solid footwork, and can post-up. Stark offers face-up ability from the elbow, looks to have good court IQ and work as a passer, and can hit the jumper if an opponent leaves him.     Tresean White<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/tresean-white-2/"></a> is a six-foot-three-inch 2030 big man for Minneapolis Central that has inside and outside ability. White is a long and athletic forward who is a strong and good rebounder with his length and size combination. The size and length help White defend around the basket altering shots. Offensively White showed potential as a floor stretching shooter and at times showed potential as driver attacking the basket.     Cameron Anthony Johnson<a href="https://prephoops.com/player/cameron-johnson-16/"></a> is a six-foot-two-inch 2030 forward from Minneapolis Central that has looks of he could develop into a stretch four that with ball handling development could be one of those perimeter shooters and perimeter driving scorers. Johnson spotted up shoots the ball with streaky accuracy and has good length to bother players on the perimeter and deter them inside.
