John Lucas Elite Invitational: Prospects That Came To Play

The John Lucas Camp was a camp where talented players from across the country competed against each other. During my evaluation day on Sunday, I had the opportunity to scout talent through 5 on 5 games. In this article, I'll be highlighting five of my standout players from the John Lucas Camp.    Jordan Mitchell's shot-making from all three levels was impressive throughout the John Lucas Camp on Sunday. On the offensive end, Jordan was very effective, creating his shots off the dribble and shooting off the catch, generating easy offense for his team. When he wasn't scoring the ball, Jordan was able to make plays for his teammates due to his passing. Throughout my evaluation, Jordan was very composed in the game I was able to see him play in.     Herbert Agamba is a prospect I was able to evaluate at the Adidas 3SSB circuit in Bryan, Texas. During the John Lucas camp on Sunday, Herbert showcased his floor presence, effectively catching lobs, and demonstrated a strong interior presence throughout my evaluation. Standing at 6'9, he utilized his length to affect shots around the rim, making things difficult for opposing players driving to make plays in the paint. His timing in starting to run the floor is noticeable as he sprints lines effectively, which results in fast break opportunities for himself. With an impressive summer, he will be looking to carry the momentum into the fall.     JD Humphries made a substantial impact in the second-to-last game at the John Lucas camp. He not only scored a run to secure the victory but also displayed increased aggression defensively. His perimeter defense allowed him to make crucial plays down to the stretch. JD, recovering from an injury, aims to make a significant impact at Cy Falls High School this upcoming season. Throughout his recovery, he has diligently worked on improving his skills, demonstrating his dedication and commitment as a high-level player. I will closely monitor his progress as I can sense that he has put in the effort to enhance his abilities.     Aiden Wanrow is a 6'8 forward that showcased his shooting mechanics during my evaluation of his game at the John Lucas Camp on Sunday. Offensively, he swiftly released his shots when left open within his team's offensive flow, converting them at a commendable pace. Additionally, he possesses a knack for grabbing rebounds, significantly contributing to his overall production. Aiden is also a willing passer during offensive possessions and an active defender.     Kavontay Rose's energy was truly evident demonstrating his productivity at the John Lucas Camp. Offensively, he effectively used shoulder bumps to create separation in the paint, allowing him to finish with ease. During off-ball runs, he showcased floor awareness, particularly in transition situations where he was frequently found open. His motor was evident throughout, as he consistently displayed aggression in both offensive and defensive possessions.
