Prep Hoops Circuit: Alex's All-Circuit Team

I had the opportunity to attend multiple Prep Hoops circuit tournaments this summer and both of them had several standouts and new teams I had not seen before. Some teams from out of state, such as Alabama and Louisiana, also traveled in and showed up to see the best of Texas competition the circuit had to offer. Here, I will list some standouts over the summer who stood out to me from both Houston Heat Check and Space City Collision in Houston.    Kyren has good court awareness on the offensive side of the floor and uses quickness and shifty moves to beat defenders to his spots for easy shots. He operates well as the ballhandler off the pick and roll and uses smooth mechanics to get a good shot release over defenders. He had a productive summer on the PH Circuit playing for PSB Dallas 16u and he first caught my attention at Prep Hoops Houston Heat Check.     Lincoln is one of my biggest stock rising players in the Houston area that I have been watching since his sophomore year. A true leader on both sides of the floor, JQ impacts the stat column in all categories with his tenacious rebounding, playmaking skills in the halfcourt setting, and his ability to score from all three levels. He displays great instincts on defense by blocking shots in the paint and securing crunch time rebounds, limiting the opposing team's opportunities. Underrated speed in transition allows him to get to the basket through multiple players, often times undeterred by contact.     [player_tooltip player_id='2860138' first='Christopher' last='Williams'] was a knockdown shooter, especially from deep range and showcased this in the Houston Heat Check tournament. Williams moves well without the ball and opposing perimeter players have to keep track of him at all times due to his high IQ decision making and awareness. He does a good job setting off ball screens and hustling on every possession. He is capable of getting hot in a hurry with his willingness to shoot even over players closing out.     Jace uses his size and mobility to control the post against smaller opponents at will and this was evident during 1 Nation's games in the Houston Heat Check. Toole knocks down jumpers from midrange when left open and is capable of using spin and fadeaway moves to hit shots over top defenders on the opposing team. He uses a strong frame and huge wingspan to block shots and deflect passes as well possessing good speed to run the floor effectively and make things happen in the paint.     [player_tooltip player_id='2532101' first='Karsen' last='Buggs'] plays the role of a combo guard very well for [program_tooltip program_id='2537937' first='Barber' last='Society Tarheels']. Buggs uses isolation situations to exploit mismatches on defense, and he has quick speed coming out of the triple threat getting to the basket. He draws contact often and gets himself to the free throw line, knocking down free points and adding to the stat column. Karsen also crashes the glass well as a guard and makes his presence known with extra help handling the ball and good spot up shooting.
