For this report since it's 2 players from each team we will do it in a story format. If you can have two players who can make a difference in high school basketball it almost always produces victories and long playoff runs. We check in on Long Island and look at the teams and the dynamic duos that meet that criteria and their coaches who hope lead to many wins.

We'll start in Nassau and Uniondale comes to mind quickly. Uniondale is up and coming getting back to their past successful history of winning Nassau titles. Coach Jazz Styles has implemented the style that Uniondale over the years is accustomed to. Size really makes a difference on Long Island and Uniondale has that in Jayden Barrows all 6”7 of him. This class of 28 player will demand attention in the paint. He uses his frame well in blocking shorts or altering shots. Offensively he has the ability to shoot over players even ones his own size. [player_tooltip player_id='3681740' first='Jayden' last='Oden'] is a 6”4 2028 wing. A very athletic strong above the rim player. Outstanding in transition. He plays with high energy and a great motor. Brings his athleticism to both ends of the floor.

A little further out in Suffolk we are very interested in Commack high schools duo that have a real nice skill set. Johnny Ehlers is a player I am most interested in seeing this coming season. The 6”4 senior will look to improve on very impressive numbers from last year. With a smooth offensive game we feel he is ready to take off in Suffolk and vie for all county. A very versatile player who uses his size and athleticism to score. Can create his own shot off the bounce. Scores at all three levels. Really nice player with still upside to his game. Presents match up problems . Getting him the ball and running the offense will be 5”8 senior Ryan Curcio. Brings energy to both ends of the floor. Excellent court vision and awareness. Possesses a real feel for the game and plays with good pace. His elusive handles gets him into the and create for himself or others.

Staying in Suffolk but checking out the Catholic school league lands us with the Cougars of St John The Baptist. We don't look deep into the roster to see [player_tooltip player_id='2234401' first='Tony' last='Etkins']. The 6”3 2027 player is a three level scorer. A bona fide score in bunches type player. Can take over games. Can score from various spots on the floor. Really nice stand still shooter but can also get it done off his own dribble. Old school type moves well without the ball. A potential Catholic school league player of the year. Justus Gales a young 2028 5”8 guard . Plays downhill puts a lot of pressure on defenders. A true point guard. His nickname is shifty and it really fits his game. Understands the importance of changing speed and direction on the open floor. A true point guard who can score the ball getting into the lane. Guards all 94 feet.
