SD Summer Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Summer basketball is where reputations are made, and South Dakota had no shortage of players putting themselves on the map. Whether it was showing out with their high school squads in team camps and open gyms, or making noise on the club circuit against some of the top competition around, plenty of names separated themselves this offseason.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In this article, we're highlighting a mix of South Dakota standouts, some who impressed alongside their high school teammates, and others who made their mark playing club ball this summer. What made Anthony stand out was his defense, court speed, and the disruption he caused on both ends of the floor. He is mature beyond his years. Carter is a gifted PG. This kid guards/defends at a high level. Congrats to Connor on signing with the University of Sioux Falls. Mebius proved that you do not need to be above 6'0" to gain interest from the D2 NSIC level. All of the hard work is certainly paying off for the best PG in South Dakota. Deair is a floor general who makes everyone around him better. He locked down many of the top opposing guards. It is also worth mentioning that Smith is an improved shooter. Blackburn is all-around tough. He handles the rock extremely well, shoots it, and is a mismatch problem for most. He is a relentless hooper who can score from anywhere on the court. He is also not afraid to lead a huddle. Peyton played for SSA SD White and had a really nice club season. For his school team, Glenn also played very well at team camps. He is a versatile scorer at the high school level with the ability to score with his back to the basket, off the dribble, and/or from the 3pt arc. He is the Comets best perimeter shooter and scorer in the post. Add in his outstanding decision-making and his tough defending, and you have an all-around baller. Peyton added muscle this summer.
