Expert Analysis
Michael Herrick | Prep Hoops Scout
This guard from West River is a playmaker off the dribble. Jackson is a great communicator, leader, and scorer. This spring, he has looked like one of the top players in the ’30 class. He is talented, skilled, and confident. Langdeau can pull from long range and make it look easy. He no doubt has potential.

Langdeau is one of the most surprising top performers of the Prep Hoops Next Nationals as he is playing with 2029’s as a 2030 prospect. RC Select is a talented group who plays together on both ends, but Jackson stood out as a lights-out shooter and high IQ player. Rhythm and pace is an easy way to characterize his approach on the offensive end of the floor. He covered a lot of ground when driving the paint and completed his attacks with euro-steps and floaters even among much taller players. His bread and butter was his ability to stretch defenses and shoot the lights out from beyond the three-point line. The games seemed to slow down for him a great deal in moments when he got hot, as on day 3 he scored 17 points in one half of play. I am intrigued to see this kid improve in the coming years.

exhibited elite playmaking potential with dynamic ball-handling wizardry and shifty dribbling, delivering dime-dropping passes. He has the ball on a string and can thread the needle through tight, closing windows unlike many others his age. If someone was open or cutting through the lane with the slightest bit of space, Langdeau would find them in a timely and accurate manner. Langdeau is a threat to set up quick and easy buckets for himself and others in transition, a half-court setting, and in isolation, where he has a knack for breaking down defenses on paint touches. He excels at putting moves together and always has a counter ready, adept at setting up driving angles, making his defender shift, lose balance, or turn. With a deep bag of handles, he can crossover, spin, hesitate, and go behind the back to create separation against the best defenders. Playing with great energy and on-court leadership qualities, this 2030 prospect is playing up and doesn’t look out of place at all despite his height or size. Langdeau’s playmaking, ball-handling, and leadership make him an exceptional talent with a bright future.
