Dakotas Spring Standouts

Every spring, the club basketball circuit has a way of revealing something special, and this year the Dakotas have been no shortage of talent worth talking about. From packed gyms to high-stakes tournaments, players from North Dakota and South Dakota have spent the spring months proving they belong among the best the region has to offer.   These are the guys who have separated themselves. The ones who compete hard night in and night out, make winning plays, and leave a lasting impression on everyone in the building. Scouts, coaches, and evaluators have been paying attention, and for good reason.   Below is a look at some of the top performers from the Dakotas who have made this spring one to remember.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large is-resized"><a href="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/06/Screen-Shot-2025-06-17-at-8.59.49-AM-crop-1021x671-1781068558.png"><img src="https://prephoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2025/06/Screen-Shot-2025-06-17-at-8.59.49-AM-crop-1021x671-1781068558.png?w=800" alt="" class="wp-image-3667458" style="width:184px;height:auto" /></a></figure>    Mattern is playing with a purpose on the defensive end of the floor. He plays solid individual and team defense. Bryer has done a nice job of defending all 5 positions and is great at switching screens.     Ganser is a long '30 guard who controls the speed of the game incredibly well. He plays downhill and is a good finisher. Carter is a capable perimeter shooter; as he gains more confidence, he will be deadly. Ganser has had a great spring as a defender; he makes life very difficult for opposing point guards.     Myers scored the rock at a high level for SSA this spring. Cash is a quick, fast, skilled, and aggressive ball player. He also makes his teammates better by distributing the basketball for open shots.     Cole is a bucket-getter, shot-creator, sharply skilled, and he hoops with an edge. This spring with SSA, Martin was productive against all levels of competition. He consistently produced. Cole always gives 100% effort on both ends of the hardwood, his future is very bright.     Bower is young for his grade but still a stud with exciting potential. His ability to get into the paint and create for himself or for others has made him stand out this spring. Davian is best at getting into the paint and scoring off of short mid-range jumpers or at the rim, he can also stretch the defense and hit C/S 3's. Lastly, his ability to speed offensive players up by picking them up full court and turning ball handlers over is impressive.     This guard from West River is a playmaker off the dribble. Jackson is a great communicator, leader, and scorer. This spring, he has looked like one of the top players in the '30 class. He is talented, skilled, and confident. Langdeau can pull from long range and make it look easy. He no doubt has potential.     His continued growth and on-court performance are commendable. K'Shaun makes the correct plays, takes smart shots, and is a strong rebounder. He creates scoring opportunities for his teammates, understands the game well, and is selfless with the ball. He is a good leader as a PG, has a high hoops IQ, and lifts up those around him. K'Shaun is also a salty defender and a well-rounded ball player. His spring was impressive and his summer will be even better.     Sunde was productive on offense and defense this spring. I caught some of his tape, and Tate was impressive on O, this kid can create and score the rock. On D, Sunde looked tough guarding 1-5, he is versatile. He is also shooting the 3-ball extremely well.     Knudsen is a beast and he stood out this spring with SSA. Wyatt's relentless effort on both ends of the floor and on the glass made him impossible to overlook this spring. He is very good at attacking the rim from the perimter and interior. Knudson is talented at finding angles on the drive and has a knack for getting into position for scores. Wyatt guards well in & out, he is versatile. This Packer has great size, strength, and aggressiveness. Their offensive and defensive games have blossomed. Kasen has taken on more of an offensive role and has had impressive production. AJ has shone more on the defensive end as a rim protector and shot blocker.
