Prospects we’d like to see at the Freshman Showcase this week

Every event gives players a chance to move the needle, and these are names that already started doing exactly that over the last few months. These are names we saw stand out at our events this Spring/Summer, and each one showed something that made us circle their name. The Freshman Showcase is another opportunity to keep that momentum going, compete against a strong group, and continue building a name before the high school season gets underway. Lock in now!    Vinyard is a player who we got familiar with earlier this Spring at the Centennial State Cup, and he was able to show an all-around game. He's a player who controlled tempo, made shots, created for teammates, and kept the offense organized, which got him on the radar. Now comes another chance to create separation and prove that he's a player to know moving forward. I think there's another gear there, and I'd like to see him tap into it. Hope he gets out to the showcase to show the type of player he is.     Palomino was one of my favorite young forwards all summer, as we saw him stand out and have his moments. We also saw him at Colorado Live, and he's going to be a freshman who actually plays varsity this year, so this will be about pushing himself and seeing where he stands amongst the other freshmen. This Summer his versatility kept popping out as he can affect the game in multiple ways. He's already on some radars, but another strong showing can catapult him to the top of the class early on.     We got to see Valdez earlier this Summer at the Centennial State Cup, and he looked like a player worth tracking. He's a two-way standout who understands where to be on the floor, has an aggressive mentality, and finds ways to make his mark in games. His game translates. I'd love to see him bring that same competitiveness into a showcase environment and continue proving he's ready for bigger opportunities, as I feel he'll get his feet wet on varsity this year and take over on whatever team he lands.     Curtis is a player who brought intensity and played with an edge when we saw him earlier this summer. He showcased a versatile game as he shot the ball well, got out in transition, and finished and gave his team momentum whenever he was on the floor. His type of play is contagious, and that's exactly what a showcase needs is that kind of energy. We've wanted to see more of him, and this is a prove it spot to get on more radars.     Redden was a standout on multiple occasions for Olympic City Elite when we saw him this summer, and we're curious to see if there's something more for him. I personally liked his pace and decision-making as it lets him score with ease, make plays on both ends of the floor, and he showed that he could be a floor general that gets teammates involved. I'd like to see that same competitiveness on display at the showcase this week, where he makes the trip to prove himself.     Torres was one of those players I didn't know much about until Rocky Mountain Mayhem, and that was the only time we got to see him. Well, we want to see more. From what we saw then, he's a player who can make his mark on the defensive end of the floor, he's willing to do the small things, and he made the right play more often than not. Now it's about showing that it wasn't just a one-off but the beginning of a career worth following.     Fox is a player who we are very curious about, as he's a player who I feel is going to have a buzz that starts his freshman year. We saw him dominate at times this summer, and we want to see how that game has evolved and how he'll look in this kind of setting. We like how he pushes the pace, sets up teammates, and controls what's happening on the floor, but at any moment he can just take over and go get a basket, and that's exactly what will have him as a standout at the showcase. I'd love to see him get out and prove that he's a name to know moving forward, and another solid outing could really separate him.
