What was a trend in basketball is now the thing, versatility, especially guys that can defend near the rim and block shots defensively and play on the perimeter offensively. Gus is a long, athletic forward that fits that mold plus he's an excellent runner (runs cross-country). What makes Gus so high on the list isn't just what he potentially can be, it's what he is now and could be. Gus possesses inside out abilities and showed this spring and summer he can produce at high level.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSOltQ-GTpE

[player_tooltip player_id='2395830' first='Oliver' last='McKenna'] is Gus's twin and also a rising prospect in the 2028 class. Also standing at six-foot-eight-inches and a cross-country runner Ollie possesses a lot of the same physical characteristics Gus does, long, tall, athletic and versatile. Ollie isn't as polished and strong as an outside shooter as Gus. There is a lot of intrigue after he returned in July and showcased above the hoop finishing and his length.

[player_tooltip player_id='2560485' first='Jackson' last='Vargas'] is a six-foot-six-inch 2028 forward from Rogers that made a huge jump in the 2028 rankings this spring and summer. Vargas possesses one of the best shooting strokes in the 2028 class from beyond the 3-point arc that is accurate and he can make them with high volume. Vargas has added more skillful finishing abilities at the rim and showed he can defend in the post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2x2J1X8S7k

[player_tooltip player_id='2920933' first='Berant' last='Amborn'] is a five-foot-eleven-inch 2028 Alexandria that quietly has been waiting his turn to turn-up for Alex and this spring and summer showed that he can step into the shoes of the D2 guard that just graduated. Amborn handles the ball well and can run the point position like a traditional point guard setting the table, getting teammates involved and throwing timely passes. When needed Amborn uses a quick first step to squeeze passed opponents and has some crafty finishing ability around the basket.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gve5KLvdoI

[player_tooltip player_id='2406558' first='Nicholas' last='Vanheel'] is a six-foot-five-inch 2028 Albany forward that is starting to garner attention on the gridiron for his strength, speed, quickness and good hands he has. Vanheel is a power forward in the truest sense that exhibits pass catching tight end football skills. Vanheel outworks opponents on the offensive glass, has shown low-post foot skills and is a strong upfront defender below the basket.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Frl1vuvvYHs

[player_tooltip player_id='2413330' first='Judd' last='Layton'] is a six-foot-three-inch 2028 guard from Big Lake that is a scoring threat all the time, something he showed very well last winter for the Hornets. Layton can shoot the ball a bit from the perimeter and the mid-range and shows a solid craftiness around the rim. Layton doesn't stay still and cuts often giving teammates an open man to feed the ball to.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLM3GX2EDWQ

[player_tooltip player_id='2919157' first='Gavin' last='Berg'] is a five-foot-nine-inch 2028 Alexandria guard that spreads the floor very well for you offensively with his outside shooting ability, especially spotted up as Berg is a guard you can't leave open. Oliver McKenna Oliver McKenna Oliver McKenna 6'10" | C Pequot Lakes | 2028 State MN is Gus's twin and also a rising prospect in the 2028 class.
