Sykes uses his arm span to his advantage on the glass and crashes for rebounds consistently with IQ. He will impact possessions running the floor with purpose. Defensively his length translates inside and out against bigger or smaller bodies challenging shots on the perimeter or creating difficulty vs more size. Rome will facilitate and run the 1 but he can put it in the basket with a well rounded scoring package as well. He has a textbook mid range jumper from 8-17 feet and the ability to finish around the rim vs more size. His ability to get into the paint and then make the extra pass whether it be a drop off or spray out showed his IQ throughout the day and selfless mentality. In transition he has his eyes up looking to make the right read. Defensively Rome brings active hands and correct positioning 1 pass away helping to deny his assignment off the ball. There were multiple times he chased down offenses in transition to help challenge at the basket and continued to provide activity in the passing lanes or on the ball in the ½ court setting. He uses his length to consistently alter plays and helped generate multiple steals. There was not a forward with his size at The Expo that helped coordinate more turnovers than Travieso. On the offensive end he will screen the ball, crash the glass for second chance opportunities and runs the floor hard to create transition opportunities.
