George Fox Elite Camp - Top Performers

George Fox held its first of two elite camps on campus this past Saturday and just over 30 participants arrived at Miller Gymnasium to learn and compete. Led by head coach Maco Hamilton and his staff, the prospects from the classes of 2027 all the way back to 2030 participated in a number of drills and scrimmages. We had the opportunity to watch much of the scrimmage action and with many of the players hailing from in-state, here are our picks for the top performers from Oregon.    Mason impressed us in multiple ways during the scrimmage action. As one of the taller players in the camp, the rising West Linn junior definitely utilized his size advantage inside with a number of finishes using both hands and absorbing all sorts of contact. As the games went along, he also started to find his range with his perimeter shot, knocking down catch-and-shoot threes to make him a multi-dimensional offensive threat.     Another one of the bigs in camp, Natwick was extremely difficult to contain once he got position down low. Using strong footwork and a number of post moves, the rising Sherwood junior utilized his super soft touch to convert a number of buckets near the hoop and he was also able to step out and hit a number of face-up jumpers as well. Natwick was one of the top rebounders among all participants, especially with his work on the offensive boards.     Cantwell continued his good play this last part of the summer at George Fox. While there weren't as many opportunities as he had in the AAU tournaments we've seen him recently, whenever he did have the ball in his hands he made them count. The rising Nelson senior wing knocked down open jumpers - arguably one of the best outside shooters we saw out of all participants - and was effective finishing in transition with a number of fast break layups.     The last time we saw Loye was earlier this summer with his [program_tooltip program_id='2248856' first='Players' last='Only'] AAU squad and we were impressed with his shot-making ability. That was on display at camp as he was aggressive in trying to create off the dribble while also doing a nice job hitting perimeter shots. With his size and aggressiveness, the rising Lake Oswego junior is very difficult to contain once he gets momentum going downhill.     There were a handful of 2029 prospects in attendance and Sackett impressed us the most out of all of them. The rising sophomore wing is long and lanky at 6-foot-4 and his wingspan certainly created some havoc defensively as he recorded a handful of blocked shots. Offensively he may have started out slow but once he knocked down an open three, the confidence level grew and the shots started falling. Sackett has a nice-looking jumper but also showed he could do some damage creating off the dribble as well.
