Ben Howlett Elite Camp Top Performers

The Ben Howlett Elite Camp brought a talented group of prospects to the campus of IU-Indianapolis, featuring players from the 2027-2029 classes from across the Midwest. Throughout the camp, several prospects separated themselves with their production, competitiveness, and overall impact. Here's a look at some of the top performers who caught my attention throughout the day.      Extremely skilled Forward that is making clear strides to becoming a full time wing. [player_tooltip player_id='2797660' first='Manu' last='Jackson'] possesses a physical frame that knows how to use it on both ends of the floor. Showed he can be at the minimum a secondary ball handler and even brought the ball up and initiated offense by creating open looks for himself as well as others. Not the quickest or most athletic player, but gets to his spots efficiently and scores in a variety of different ways. Big time rebounder on both ends and is a nice weak side shot blocker. Still learning how to play with a consistent motor, but so much untapped potential once he figures it out.     Under the Radar Forward in the Indiana Class of 2029 that played with the most effort out of anyone in camp today. [player_tooltip player_id='2953938' first='Ty' last='Wetzel'] was making plays all over the floor with his length and athleticism. Continues to get more comfortable with the speed of the varsity game. Has a lot of tools he's working with for a player that barely got varsity action if any as a freshman. Fluid athlete that is a versatile defender that's excellent anticipating the next pass and plays with active hands in help side. Aggressive around the basket as a rim protector and has the chance to be a game changer. Offensive game continues to come around, but gets most of his buckets off the offensive glass and dump offs. Also showed intriguing court vision on the wing with several nice assists to gutters to the basket.     My first time getting a good look at Jay County 2027 Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2411083' first='Jayden' last='Comer']. Smooth offensive game that gets into his shot quickly and has deep range with an effortless stroke. Showed his driving ability to get all the way to the basket as well as playing under control in the midrange where he can stop and pop over defenders. Willing defender that was able to get out in passing lanes and turn defense into offense in a hurry.     Big time player in the Indiana Class of 2027 that made his presence felt at the Ben Howlett Elite Camp. Started off a bit slow but once he got rolling, he was impactful on both ends of the floor. 6'6” matchup nightmare with inside-out feel on the offensive end. Capable of posting up and exploiting mismatches on the low block with soft touch on his jump hook. Excellent putting the ball on the floor and getting to any spot on the floor he wanted. Also showed his ability to knock down catch and shoot 3's at a high level.     Arguably the best defensive prospect at camp, the 6'9” prospect out of Michigan is a fluid athlete that makes plays above the rim. Excellent shot blocker that can get from one end of the floor to the other in a hurry. Legitimate perimeter skills showing the ability to drive close outs as well as knock down catch and shoot 3's.
