High motor 2029 Forward out of Heritage Hills with as much intriguing upside as any player on the area. 6’6” Forward Ty Wetzel Ty Wetzel 6'6" | SF/PF Heritage Hills | 2029 IN impacts the game mostly on the defensive end of the floor right now with his length and athleticism. High energy prospect that rebounds and blocks shots at a high level. Will have the opportunity step into a starting role for the Patriots this season and will be a difference maker.

The physical and athletic tools stand out right away when evaluating Wetzel. He moves very fluidly for a young 6’6″ forward and can play up above the rim as a finisher. We saw him finish a couple of dunks on Sunday, but he also uses that athleticism to attack closeouts, slash his way to the basket, offensive rebounder and run the floor in transition. The 6’6″ forward from Heritage Hills High School has intriguing upside and will be one to follow closely down in southern Indiana.

The only prospect on this list that got very little to any varsity action as a freshman, Ty Wetzel Ty Wetzel 6'6" | SF/PF Heritage Hills | 2029 IN has a chance to be one of the more intriguing sophomores in the Southwest Indiana area. The long and athletic 6’6” Forward out of Heritage Hills is growing into his own on the basketball floor as a player that can be a game changer on the defensive end of the floor. Extremely high motor defender that is disruptive in passing lanes. Saw him diving on the floor several times for loose balls and isn’t afraid to contest shots at the rim. Continues to get more comfortable on the offensive end of the floor. Right now he scores off of offensive putbacks, but has shown a clean stroke from three, as well as skilled enough to drive closeouts. Will be a heavy contributor for the new look Patriots this season.

Under the Radar Forward in the Indiana Class of 2029 that played with the most effort out of anyone in camp today. Ty Wetzel Ty Wetzel 6'6" | SF/PF Heritage Hills | 2029 IN was making plays all over the floor with his length and athleticism. Continues to get more comfortable with the speed of the varsity game. Has a lot of tools he’s working with for a player that barely got varsity action if any as a freshman. Fluid athlete that is a versatile defender that’s excellent anticipating the next pass and plays with active hands in help side. Aggressive around the basket as a rim protector and has the chance to be a game changer. Offensive game continues to come around, but gets most of his buckets off the offensive glass and dump offs. Also showed intriguing court vision on the wing with several nice assists to gutters to the basket.

Not necessarily a new face to me but getting his first action on the varsity as an incoming sophomore and there is a lot to like from the 6’5” 2029 Wing/Forward. Active on both ends of the floor with a nice skillset. Has the potential to be a difference maker on the defensive end of the floor. Fluid athlete that really competes when defending. Guards multiple positions. Good rebounder that can push on the break. Offensive hub that has intriguing court vision. Active cutter off the ball with good hands that finishes plays off cuts to the rim.

This was my first time seeing the lengthy freshman from Heritage Hills since the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. Fluid athlete that showed he can play all over the floor. Good perimeter skills that make him a tough cover for bigger defenders but also has the ability to post up on the block and score over smaller defenders. Early in Game 1 he got a defensive rebound and after his outlet he had a nice rim run straight into post up and showed nice touch on a jump hook over the left shoulder. High potential kid that will continue to get better and gain confidence the more he plays.

A player who projects to have a strong high school career is Heritage Hill’s Ty Wetzel Ty Wetzel 6'6" | SF/PF Heritage Hills | 2029 IN . As the son of a head coach, Wetzel displayed elite fundamentals on the floor, combining length and smoothness. He played physically around the rim, and most defenders struggled to contend with his length. I really like his game already.

The younger brother of one of Heritage Hills’ stars, and the son of their head coach, this younger Wetzel promises to be a good long-term prospect down in southern Indiana as well. The 6’2″ wing has impressive physical and athletic tools for his age and should compete very well amongst his peers at the upcoming Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase in Noblesville.
