USE CODE “baxley30” FOR 30% OFF THE FIRST PURCHASE OF ANY SUBSCRIPTION

While the guard play was impressive throughout the weekend, the wings and forwards at Jr. EYBL offered plenty to be excited about as well. Prospects from North and South Carolina showcased positional versatility, physical tools, and flashes of upside against quality competition in North Augusta. Here are the frontcourt and wing players who left the strongest impressions.

[player_tooltip player_id='2419234' first='Treyvon' last='Smith'] leads off the list. He is a South Carolina 2030 with national attention already, so there were many who wanted to get eyes on him last week in North Augusta. Smith got going in the second half of [program_tooltip program_id='2134373' first='Team' last='USC Unleashed']'s matchup with the eventual champs Team Final, finishing with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Treyvon showed some really good things around the rim, working the offensive glass for second-chance points, scoring from the post, and finishing transition opportunities. Overall, it was an excellent showcase from Smith, who certainly has a case for the top spot in South Carolina's 2030 Rankings when they are released next spring.

Speaking of early names to monitor for the 2030 Rankings, Travis is one whom I want to see as much as possible to project his long-term ceiling. This was my third look at Kershaw this summer and my third different situation to observe him in. He is free to be a spot-up scorer for this USC Unleashed squad, and at 6'3", he has the positional size to be effective on the wing. Travis is a solid outside shooter and can finish with craft around the rim when he drives closeouts. As he continues to improve his jumper and gets stronger, it would be easy to see Kershaw become one of the best prospects in the Palmetto State.

The third Unleashed 8th Grader to make this list is Smith. Omari didn't have a ton of the ball in his hands in the game and a half that I caught on Thursday, but he has excellent size for his age to be dominant in the paint. Smith was good on the glass and has good hands to deflect passes and block shots, which gives him a high floor as a big man. If he can become a little more mobile and develop a go-to offensive move, that will unlock Omari's full skillset.

Switching over to North Carolina, [player_tooltip player_id='3682773' first='Kinston' last='Allen'] is a major handful for [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3']. His monster, 6'6" frame made it difficult for NY Rens to defend all game long, it was just about whether his guards would get him the ball or not. Along with the size, Allen has intriguing tools for a young big man, such as a soft touch, good hands, and a willingness to run the floor and be a screener. Keep an eye on Kinston to be a dominant force at Person in his freshman year.

Keeping it with CP3s 2030 group, CJ is an early wing to know in the Hoop State. He is as confident as they come as a shooter, so although it wasn't his most efficient game, Dial was still able to affect the game with his desire to score the rock and threat on the outside. Along with flashes of three-level scoring off the dribble, CJ made his presence felt defensively with his length and activity on the glass and in passing lanes.

[player_tooltip player_id='3693970' first='Cassations' last='Harris'] rounds out the wings and forwards from the Carolinas at Jr. EYBL. This 7th-Grade big man showed some intriguing things for [program_tooltip program_id='3565368' first='Twelve' last='Time'] on day two, racking up 8 points and a handful of rebounds. He doesn't have glaring size or athleticism, but he works hard and does his best to compete on every possession. Harris was at his best around the rim, working the offensive glass, finishing around bodies, and even flashed a nice move with back-to-the-basket.
