This team was one of those "second teams" that was very talented and peaked as a unit. They had stars, workers, role players, and everything in between that fit for a 40-4 season. Yes having a player like [player_tooltip player_id='2126466' first='Kobby' last='Sambrew'] joining [player_tooltip player_id='2417301' first='Hunter' last='Vinkemeier'] was huge, but they role players were outstanding as well. They won the National Open, the GPA, and NHR State. Ranked second in state. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>35 Win Club</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Wilde 16u. Fury Wilde played up and they played damn near everybody in the region to win 37 of 42 games. A team that played outstanding team basketball that won the National Open, NHR State, the GPA and the Scheels Prospect Series. Finished number one at their age. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hoop Habits UA Rise 16u. The winner of the Comets Shootout and the runner up in the UA Rise Nationals, this group went 36-7 on the season and finished third in the state at 16U. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Zurn 17u. The winners of the Upper Midwest Finals had a 35-win season that led to wins in 35 of 43 games this year. Dealt with some injuries and still managed another great season. Ranked fourth in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075496' first='Grassroots' last='Sizzle']/Minnesota Falcons 15u. No matter what name they were under, the Sizzle/Falcons team was always competing, always playing and they finished the year with a 35-9 record overall. More wins than any other team at 15u. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>30 Win Club</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hoops Habits UA Rise 17u. Hoop Habits mixed UA Rise with some strong local tournaments and built their season to a 33-10 record overall. A guard/wing dominant team that stretched teams out. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075685' first='Minnesota' last='Select'] Fuerte 17u. The winners of the Comets Shoutout had a 33 win season, they were also runners up at the Upper Midwest Finals and the NHR State Tournament. They went through some change after a great April and still pushed to 33-9 on the year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075672' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] Shepherd 16U. The state's 6th place finisher in the rankings won 31 of 40 games and finished as the national runner-up at the National Open. Another really good Fury second team that was better than most first teams. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'] GVR 17u. I think the Heat was one of the most improved teams of the season and they gave some of the best teams in the area fits at the end of the year. A 30-14 season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2888391' first='Minnesota' last='Comets'] Elite 16u. Another team that had some injuries but battled through to get to 30 wins in 41 games. The Comets had a couple runner-up finishes and finished 5th in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans'] Hill 17u. Great respect for this team that won 30 games playing at their level and doing a great job at their level. Why were they so good? Team play and maybe it's because they have so many good football players on their team! Lots of good two sport guys. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
