Saturday, July 18th John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN (Pope John Paul II) shared a few minutes for an introductory interview while his STARS 15u team battled in Louisville.

PrepHoopsTN: John, nice to meet you. In your first game of the day you guys just lost to BMaze (15u) in double overtime by 3. First, your thoughts on the game.
John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN : We battled really well. We came back after a deficit in the first quarter. I thought we battled really hard. We just came up a little short.

PrepHoopsTN: How has your summer been overall?
John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN : It has been pretty good. We played pretty good.

PrepHoopsTN: What have you seen from yourself that you may have expected, that you may not have expected? What have you seen from yourself in terms of development this summer?
John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN : Just getting better overall. Just getting better on layups. Rebounds. My overall game.

PrepHoopsTN: How does the physicality compare? It seems like when you get older everybody goes up against bigger guys.
John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN : It is definitely a lot different. You have to adjust at first. But once I adjusted it feels good.

PrepHoopsTN: Do you have any plans in August. Any camps or anything like that?
John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN : No, sir.

You can read about the thrilling game between BMaze 15u and STARS 15u here. John scored nine points in the game and showed off surprising agility for a young, tall hooper. He split his free throw attempts. Most of his offensive contribrutions came in the first half. BMaze 15u was the bigger team. Their frontline included Kharlo Dickens and Landon Baldwin. Without John providing some court balance and a post deterrant BMaze was going to blow out the talented, undersized STARS team. Foster kept the game within reach though it was a real challenge through the game's first two quarters. Importantly, John Foster John Foster 6'8" | C Pope John Paul II | 2029 State TN managed to stay out of foul trouble too. He finished the double overtime game with just a single foul.
