With hundreds of teams participating, there was an extreme amount of talent on display in Kansas City. For our next article covering the Sunflower Showcase, we'll be taking a look at just a few of the post players that stood out.

At 14 years old, Kliewer is already closing in on being a 7-footer. The Mokan center is a force down low and is an elite defensive anchor. On the rare occasion that a shot is attempted on him, it is almost 100% of the time impacted or blocked. Offensively, he is still coming into his own. With that being said, he's already very skilled at posting up and gaining the defense's attention. He's also shown promise as a potential floor spacer. As he continues to develop his touch around the rim and hand IQ, similar to his teammate Samajai Critten, the sky is the limit.

(Photo above shows Mackey stretching the floor for Mokan)

Teke Deng quickly showed why he has offers from schools like Kansas State and UNLV. Listed at 6'11, Deng immediately started the game with a tenacious standing dunk. With his ridiculous length, Deng can contest shots at a high rate. He's quick for his size and showed that multiple times with chase-down blocks. As he goes into his senior year, I would love to see him be more physical and a little more selfish offensively. Deng is unguardable when he gets going. He has shown promise dribbling and shooting that is rare for his size. On a few occasions this weekend, Deng would make a skilled move with the ball and elevate over a defender for three.

(Photo above shows off Teke Deng's ridiculous length)

Keller is listed as a post player, and he is, but he has the potential to be able to be a big 3. He stretches the floor and is a strong ball handler. On the opposite side of the court, he's not a liability when guarding the perimeter. Keller is a position-less player who can fit into many roles. Down low, he's strong on the offensive boards and can finish over and through defenders. The Iowa commit was arguably the best player this weekend in Kansas City.

(Photo above shows Keller slamming it down on the fast break)

Coming off the bench for Midwest Roots, Kekesi is one of the most intriguing players coming out of the showcase. He showed promise on the offensive side, with his playmaking and overall effectiveness on the drive. Multiple times he got to the basket after receiving the ball at the top of the key. When on the drive, he would show his knack for finding open cutters. However, where Kelvis really shined was on defense. At 6'6, he's quick and athletic, and can truly guard just any position. The lanky forward used his long arms to contest every post shot. That being said, he's still quick enough to close out on perimeter shots and affect them. In what maybe is his best quality is Kelvis' mindset. Defensively, he plays incredibly hard and tries to get his hand on every shot attempt; he even took a charge, which you always love to see.

(Photo above shows Kelvis at the free throw line)

Reid is a very versatile player. Being a bigger body, offensively he excels in high-low action and can really playmake out of the high post. He had plenty of good insert bounce passes to teammates cutting or posting up. Ellis also showcased the ability to stretch the floor, with a pretty jumper. Defensively, he plays more in the post. Has active hands and is good at putting a body on somebody, which leads to a solid amount of rebounds.

With hundreds of teams participating, there was an extreme amount of talent on display in Kansas City. For our next article covering the Sunflower Showcase, we'll be taking a look at just a few of the post players that stood out.
