Summer Rankings Update: 2029 Prospects Trending Up

After getting their feet wet with 15u and the Scholastic Live Period, the class of 2029 is beginning to take shape. Of the guys who were already on the radar, here are a few who are raising their stock:    Between EYBL 15U with Team Final and the June Live Period with Sallies, Sosa is steadily growing into a high-level two-way guard. Sosa racked up steals as a point of attack and team defender. On offense, he thrived as a real threat from beyond the arc. Enhanced by his ability to handle the ball and make passes, Sosa showed versatility as a movement shooter and as someone who could create space for threes off the dribble.     Rothwell is spreading his wings a bit this summer, turning into a Swiss army knife in the process. He jammed up opposing guards in-space on hedges and switches, and created easy offense with his defense, on top of protecting the paint. With a filled-in frame, his mobility and agility carried over on offense too. Rothwell played off the catch for and cleaned the glass for twos, in addition to showing hints of playmaking and touch from deep.     With a new head coach at Hodgson, it looks like Goodman will have the privilege and responsibility of steering the ship for the Silver Eagles, on the court. He put pressure on the rim as a downhill creator, using his forward lean to initiate and absorb contact before laying the ball up or making the pocket pass. The biggest addition to his game was the self-created trey ball. Goodman was already hitting spot-up threes; so this summer he's been siding stepping and stepping back into even more off the bounce.     Without playing AAU, McGrory received the biggest bump in the class rankings due to his performance in June. He brought athleticism and physicality to the Red Wolves with how he crashed the boards, guarded defensively, and attacked the paint off the catch. The latter ability was made possible by his development into a knock down three-point shooter. McGrory will lace up the football cleats again this fall, but that won't slow-down his progress as a 3&D wing.     Green emerged on the scene as a nuclear shooter from deep who made splash plays on defense as well. But with his move to Concord, he began showing that he can be and do more. When the opportunities presented themselves, Green didn't just create for himself with his handle: he created for others. As soon as he tilted the defense or got into the paint, he looked for the open man to dish the ball to, then, if no one was open, he called his own number for two.
