With a new head coach at Hodgson, it looks like Goodman will have the privilege and responsibility of steering the ship for the Silver Eagles, on the court. He put pressure on the rim as a downhill creator, using his forward lean to initiate and absorb contact before laying the ball up or making the pocket pass. The biggest addition to his game was the self-created trey ball. Goodman was already hitting spot-up threes; so this summer he’s been siding stepping and stepping back into even more off the bounce.

-Loved the moxie and creative flair that Goodman showed as a PG prospect that can really boogie on the perimeter. Goodman attacked his matchup off the bounce well from the wings, as he used pre-drive jabs or an in n out crossover to get his defender on their back heels before jetting to his spots in the halfcourt. Goodman knocked off long twos off the bounce after ducking under a hard closeout, scored on baseline pullup’s, and finished through contact well around the rim. His ability to instinctively probe the defense and generate paint touches was a huge jolt of energy for his team’s offense at different points in the game. Guards that can create their own shot and effectively create advantages without a ball screen are becoming more and more valuable in today’s game– which only raises his floor as a long-term prospect.

After beginning the season as the Silver Eagles’ sixth man, Goodman’s mature approach quickly earned him a starting spot. He gets and keeps the team organized on offense and creates for others off the dribble. With his solid build and footwork, his subtle game isn’t predicated on a strength or speed advantage, but rather his ability to create and/or absorb contact. So although he isn’t putting up numbers now, Goodman’s flashes are promising.

Built like a running back, Goodman’s first step and change of direction make him difficult to stay in front of. Once he explodes through the gap, he can finish at the cup through contact or with craft.
