Stock Rising Seniors at The Platform

The Platform featured another competitive weekend on the Prep Hoops Circuit, with several seniors putting together strong performances. Previously, we highlighted some of the top shooters and 16U backcourt standouts from the weekend. Now, here's a look at the seniors who helped raise their stock throughout the 17U action.    Ontiveros showcased a well-rounded offensive skill set and proved to be vital of Illinois Outwork's offense. He has a quick first step, crossover and explosive burst to get by defenders and attack the rim. He found ways to score in traffic with crafty footwork, mixing in euro steps, hop steps, and strong body control around the basket. He also stayed active without the ball, creating open looks through cuts and sticking with plays. Combined with his handle and playmaking ability, Ontiveros was a constant offensive threat throughout.     Purvis played with great energy and passion every time he stepped on the floor. You can see the leadership he brings as an upperclassman, setting the tone with both his play and unselfishness. He attacked the rim with confidence, mixing in spin moves and finger rolls to finish around defenders. Purvis also excelled at creating for others, consistently finding open shooters and making the extra pass. His balance of scoring and playmaking helped elevate both his game and his Fueled By Faith team.     Elzy was fantastic in a close matchup against [program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'], making play after play when down the stretch. He impacted the game in multiple ways, including offensive rebounds and putbacks , a tough baseline drive finished with a reverse and-one, and a three-pointer before the halftime buzzer. Elzy also showed control attacking off the bounce, knocked down shots from the deep, and created for teammates by finding open looks when the defense collapsed. A strong performance from a prospect who stepped up in big moments.     Marshall brought hustle and positive playmaking to [program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'] throughout the weekend. He showed the ability to attack off the catch, using strong rip-through moves to get downhill and create straight-line drives to the rim. He embraced contact, highlighted by a left-handed finish through traffic and an and-one off a handoff going left. He also showed good chemistry in actions like a post-entry give-and-go finish. Impacts the game through effort, physicality, and making winning plays.     Lazo caught attention this weekend and deservedly so, emerging as a bright spot for Illinois Outwork. His confidence continued to build as the weekend went on, embracing a primary ball-handling role while being a scoring threat. He knocked down shots from around the perimeter, including a step-back three after creating separation with a slick crossover. He also attacked the basket off the bounce, stayed active moving without the ball, and delivered well-timed passes to create for teammates. A well-rounded offensive performance that should help raise his stock.
