June 12-14 I attended the prestigious Section-7 located at the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa and June 26-28 I attended the inaugural Nevada Live Invitational at the Las Vegas Basketball Center. They are two premier live periods for college coaches to evaluate the HS players to potentially receive offers.

We will go over multiple categories of the 112 players and move over to

[player_tooltip player_id='2466075' first='Jayvein' last='Moody'] Mountain Pointe (Pictured)

An athletic combo guard is a natural driver. He is elite in transition and will often score with tough layups or dunk it with some impressive throw downs. He will hit the three off the catch, pull-up from mid-range and his first step gets him to the basket. He will collect steals in the open court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2825336' first='Enoch' last='Reasy'] Brophy Prep

A glue player off the bench is a tough combo guard. He will score it with and-1's in traffic, catch threes, cut off the ball and quick bursts to the basket with either hand. He is an out of area rebounder with sneaky athleticism. He can be a possible breakout candidate in 6A.

[player_tooltip player_id='2386978' first='Jaydon' last='Hayes'] Willow Canyon

A strong framed combo guard is asked to play a lot on the ball this season and will play the pick and roll game perfectly. He sees the open man and delivers it but he is more of a natural scorer. He will score with threes off the catch with range, mid-range pull-ups and downhill takes.

[player_tooltip player_id='3226220' first='Linus' last='Turner'] Sunnyslope

A long defensive combo guard does many things to affect a win. He has super quick feet and hands to pester his opponents and is great in space to contain his opponents. He rebounds well in his area and will dive on the floor. He makes his defense lead to offense with layups and score with blow by layups and threes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1546987' first='Adan' last='Diggs'] Millennium

A bigger combo guard makes it look easy in stretches. His mid-range jumper comes with high elevation and his step back three already looks like a pro. He will score with baseline drives, dunks in the lane, deep threes and he can almost flip a switch and his intensity will pick up on both ends of the ball. He collects steals, blocks shots and rebounds well. He defends bigger guards well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2947347' first='Braylon' last='Hartley'] Verrado

An athletic combo guard who can play some on or off the ball. He likes to get to the basket and will score it in traffic and even dunk it in the lane. He can hit the three and he will move the ball like you should. His length on defense and athleticism make him a potential long term top defender. He is one of my personal 5A breakout players of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194803' first='Pierce' last='Harrington'] Saint Mary's

An undersized combo guard is a dynamic scorer. He has a lightning quick first step and is very twitchy to spring up quickly to rebound. He will score it with mid-range jumpers off the dribble, long step thrus, pull-ups off the dribble from the three and he almost plays with a chip in his shoulder.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140825' first='Jimmie' last='Haywood III'] Compass Prep

A bigger guard had a good showing. He is an attacking guard with floaters, dribble drives in the lane and dunks on the break. He will pull-up from mid-range, hit the three off the catch and get to the FT line. He is a good on-ball defender and is getting more athletic from last year.
