We've seen him multiple times this summer with Regis Groff and Prolific Elite, and there have been plenty of stretches where he looked capable of anchoring the pain,t and that is exactly what Regis Groff will need. He's strong, protects the rim, rebounds his area, and has enough mobility to switch and defend different matchups. We came away asking the same question we had last season: why wasn't he playing more? Now the opportunity is there. If he brings a consistent motor every night, he has everything needed to become a different maker for a team with legitimate 5A title aspirations. He's earned his way into the rankings, and I expect him to justify that this winter.

James continues to be one of the more intriguing big men we evaluate because the flashes are impossible to ignore during grassroots season. Every summer, he reminds you of the upside that's there. He's physical around the basket, not only embraces contact but looks for it, attacks the glass, and challenges bigs down low. Now it's about carrying that same game into the high school season. Northfield is going to need him to shoulder a much larger workload, and I think he's capable of doing exactly that. A strong summer earns him a rise in the rankings, but there's still another jump available if he starts putting complete games together consistently. We think it's finally coming.

Ball is a player I am more intrigued by every time I watch him. He isn't chasing points or lighting up scoreboards but rather a complementary piece. His passing is what immediately grabs my attention because those are my favorite type of players to watch. He finds cutters from the high post, makes the extra pass, and teammates are ready for his plays. It's all about feel. We liked what we saw at both UNC Team Camp and Colorado Live, and the notebook keeps filling up with the same observations. He rebounds, competes, and makes everyone around him better. We may not see him as often as others, but every watch leaves me more convinced he'll be an important piece this season that'll be on more radars if Green Mountain can make a push.

Hostetler is one of the newer names on our radar, and I'm excited to see what he does with an expanded role. Colorado Live gave us plenty to like. He kept the ball moving, handled and ran the offense, attacked the rim as a slasher, moved well without the basketball, and looked comfortable handling pressure when the ball found him. More than anything, he played as another ball handler. Chatfield will need steady guard play this season, and I think Finn has a real chance to provide it. He's only ranked where he is because we haven't seen too much of him, but that could change quickly if he builds on what we saw from him this summer. Don't be surprised if he's part of the reason Chatfield exceeds expectations.

Lowery was another player who quietly boosted his stock at Colorado Tune Up and got on our radar. The flashes we saw there still stick with me. He's long, active, and impacts the game in ways that don't always show up first in the box score. He runs the floor, cleans up the glass, and uses his length to bother opponents around the basket. Comparing him to where he was a year ago, when we first saw him, the growth is obvious. Frontier Academy should ask much more of him this season, and with his size, he'll have an advantage on plenty of nights. Now it's about embracing that role. He's trending in the right direction and earns a well-deserved rise in the rankings.

Bentley left Colorado Tune Up as one of the bigger notebook names for me. Watching him with Hard2Guard, it felt like a matter of time before more people started noticing. He's a big, athletic forward who moves well, competes defensively, and consistently puts himself in position to make plays. Guess who can use that; every team. When we saw him this summer, we saw him battle bigger bodies, defend the paint, and showed he can impact games without needing plays called for him. Mountain Vista should have opportunities available this season, and I think Bentley is ready to take advantage. There's still plenty left to unlock offensively, but I have a feeling we haven't seen his best basketball yet, which is exactly why he's making his way into the rankings now.
