June Scholastic Period Recap | Class of 2030

The June Scholastic Period has come and gone. It's a time where the players get back with their high school teams and build continuity for the upcoming season. It's also a time for the incoming freshman standouts to separate themselves and get their first look at the speed and physicality of the varsity game. Here are the top class of 2030 prospects that I was able to get eyes on during the June Scholastic Period:    Leading scorer, rebounder, and assist man this June for North Daviess, [player_tooltip player_id='2925238' first='Finnley' last='Cole'], son of new North Daviess Coach Dusty Cole, has a promising future in the Cougars Program. Heady 6'1” Guard showed his offensive versatility with the ability to impact the game without having to score. Mature frame with good size that allows him to see the floor well. Able to get to his spot on the floor while playing under control and through contact. Finishes well over length. Really good in the pick and roll showing his advanced court vision and ability to make any pass on the floor. Showed a promising three-point shot off the catch, but is best driving closeouts and making plays off the dribble.     Not many 2030 guards that have produced in the games I've gotten to see quite like [player_tooltip player_id='3664530' first='Quentin' last='Glisson'] has. Does an excellent job just impacting the games in a variety of different ways. Hard nosed defender that pressures full court and has active hands getting deflections. Offensively he's a combo guard comfortable playing on or off the ball. His calling card is his shooting ability. On balance shooter that's really good off the catch. Continues to improve his middle game off the dribble. Has a knack for getting in the lane and creating shots for others. Came off the bench in the games I saw this June, but wouldn't be surprised to see him crack the starting rotation once the season starts.     Smooth, left handed scoring guard that's entering as good of a situation as you can ask for as a freshman. Will be an immediate impact player off the bench with not a lot of pressure as the Braves return 100% of production from last season. Plays with unwavering confidence. Moves well without the ball and runs off screens ready to shoot. Can't envision him being much of a primary ball handler this upcoming season, but is someone that can play on the ball. Plus size wingspan that allows him to get his hands on balls for deflections. Should be set up for a really nice freshman season.     One of the better young guard prospects I have seen, [player_tooltip player_id='3664519' first='Matteo' last='Mallory'] showed that he is ready to step in and play meaningful impactful minutes at the varsity level on Day One. Smaller guard but plays with a solid base and physicality. Able to handle it under pressure and not get sped up. Pass first guard that showcases a high IQ manipulating defense with his eyes. Capable of scoring in a variety of different ways. Really good shooter off the catch, but is best getting downhill where he's really good with his floater. High motor on the defensive end that sees the game two plays ahead and always in position to make a play.     A long and lanky forward with as much untapped potential as any 2030 prospect in the Evansville Area. Skilled inside-out forward that despite in relatively thin frame, he does a good job staying on balance. More comfortable facing up rather than a back to the basket scorer. Has a nice touch from midrange with the ability to stretch the floor out to the three-point line. Fluid athlete for his age and has all the tools to be a big time defender. Already controls the paint with his shot blocking ability. Could end up a special talent in the area.     In an absolutely loaded class of 2030 prospects in Southwest Indiana, [player_tooltip player_id='3667590' first='Jett' last='Swanson'] has been one that has adjusted to the varsity game the best from what I've seen. Long and lanky wing that will have to add weight and muscle, but in the few games I got to see him in June, he held his own in some big time matchups on both ends of the floor. He's a high IQ player with a knack for scoring the ball. He has really good instincts on the offensive side knowing when to cut and putting himself in position to score. Sky is the limit for the young Evansville Memorial prospect.
