The second freshman to make a top positional list and for good reason is 6’5” 2030 Shooting Guard

. Longer guard with an unorthodox game that relies on change of speeds instead of pure quickness and athleticism. Capable three-point shooter that’s better off the catch, but is excellent with his midrange game off the dribble. He’s a creative scorer in the mid post that can use his height to shoot over the top of his defender. Also a solid rebounder for his frame and competes on the defensive end of the floor. Will have to get stronger, and adjust to the physicality of the varsity game, but watching him in June and Week One of the Pocket City Fall League, he will be an impact player from the jump.

Swanson is a prospect we have been able to see quite a bit of at this point and finished up just outside of our preliminary Top 25 rankings. The 6’5″ wing is a versatile two-way threat on the floor. He handles it well positionally, can attack closeouts from the perimeter, and rebounds well on both ends of the floor. We saw him look very fluid in transition this summer Hoop Club 15u as well. Definitely a prospect to watch at Evansville Memorial High School.

is as offensively gifted as any young prospect I’ve covered in the area. Long and fluid athlete that plays at his own pace and create his own mismatch. Good three-point shooter off the catch. Isn’t the quickest or most athletic player, but can turn his drives into post ups and is really good with his midrange game.

Another player that is in contention as the best long term prospect, Jett Swanson is a 6’4” Wing that has so much untapped potential. Long wing that impacts the game on both ends of the floor. Versatile defender that plays with a high IQ and always seems to be in the right position. Offensively he has the length and size to play inside out. He’s not the quickest or most athletic player on the court, but does a good job getting to his spots. Has a bit of an unorthodox game in his movements. Shot the ball well from three, but love his potential as a scorer in the midrange and around the basket utilizing his size. Day 1 starter for a young Evansville Memorial team that has a chance to lead the Tigers in scoring this season.

We’ve seen Swanson play more than some of the other prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, but it was still good to see him play in that environment. The way he moves around so fluidly as 6’4″ wing always stands out right way. He has the versatility to operate out on the perimeter or use his height and length to cause mismatches inside. Swanson dominated the offensive glass on Sunday and finished very well when he got into the paint.

Another prospect that we were able to see some over the summer, Swanson played up at the 15u level with Hoop Club on the E32 New Balance Circuit and was a big part of their consistent success. Swanson has great positional size on the perimeter that he pairs with guard-like skill as a ball-hander and passer. He should make an instant impact at Evansville Memorial. We are excited to have him signed up for the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase.

has been one that has adjusted to the varsity game the best from what I’ve seen. Long and lanky wing that will have to add weight and muscle, but in the few games I got to see him in June, he held his own in some big time matchups on both ends of the floor. He’s a high IQ player with a knack for scoring the ball. He has really good instincts on the offensive side knowing when to cut and putting himself in position to score. Sky is the limit for the young Evansville Memorial prospect.

It was a week ago that I got to see the talented 2030 Wing out of Evansville Memorial for the first time and he was even more impressive today at the University of Evansville Team Camp.

, a 6’3” Wing looked really comfortable in the Tigers win over Heritage Hills. Showed his ability to shoot from the outside knocking down multiple 3’s with confidence. The most intriguing part of his game was his playmaking ability for others. Impressive court vision and feel for a young prospect. Lets the game come to him and doesn’t force the issue. Will be an impact player for the Tigers as a freshman.

Skilled wing in the class of 2030 that plays with a mature game. Was featured in the players to watch article and mentioned that he will need time to adjust to the speed and physicality of the varsity game. Really impressed me with the way he handled pressure. He didn’t get sped up too many times and was really good making plays off the dribble. Comfortable shooting from deep even though he didn’t make one. Didn’t force the issue and was able to guard his position.

of Evansville Memorial. True scoring wing with good offensive skill. Capable of playing inside and out. Will obviously need time to adjust to varsity speed and physicality, but I expect Jett to be a major player for the Tigers in the coming years.
