July’s Final Recruiting Update — Familiar, New Names Stay Busy

Here's one final look at some recruiting news from the final few days of July across Kansas and Missouri. Plenty of players continue to pick up offers from regional and national programs, while two others have made their college commitments. Let's take a look at some of the names carrying momentum into August.   Jimmy McKinney III | 6'2" Guard | Vashon   McKinney, one of the most talented names in the region, has committed to Saint Louis. Jimmy is regarded as a top-150 recruit nationally, and his combination of shiftiness and creativity with the ball makes him one of the top lead guards in the 2027 class. His play this winter with Vashon and this summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2075324' first='Brad' last='Beal Elite'] continues to showcase his quickness and ability to create advantage situations at will.   [player_tooltip player_id='3696446' first='Teke' last='Deng'] | 6'11" Forward | Olathe North   Deng has added two offers from Loyola and DePaul. The long and rangy forward continues his impressive recruiting run after finishing the summer controlling games on both ends of the floor. As more schools continue to come calling, Teke should have his choice of Power Five opportunities when it's time to make his decision.   [player_tooltip player_id='2488757' first='Brecken' last='McGuire'] | 6'1" Guard | Olpe   McGuire's play this summer is starting to pay off, as he has added an offer from Bethany. There's no question his ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter has attracted programs. His quick release and knack for creating space, whether off the catch or off the bounce, make him a volume scorer who can get hot and stay hot.   [player_tooltip player_id='2334909' first='Will' last='Powers'] | 6'5" Guard | Westminster Christian   Will has been a household name in nearly every recruiting update throughout June and July. You can now add Saint Louis to his impressive list of offers, which continues to grow. The highly regarded guard had a big summer, showcasing a deep offensive package that includes shot-making, along with improving athleticism and explosiveness as a driver and slasher at the rim.   [player_tooltip player_id='2205710' first='Conor' last='Kerrigan'] | 6'6" Forward | Shawnee Mission South   Kerrigan cracks another update, this time picking up his fourth Division I offer from Indiana State. The versatile forward might have more momentum than any player in Kansas right now. His offensive production in July has been strong, continuing to show programs that he's a complete two-way prospect who can step in and contribute immediately as a rotational piece.   Deng Deng | 6'4" Wing | North Kansas City   An extremely under-the-radar prospect, Deng has added some size and length to his frame over the past few months. While he'll be a developmental piece at the next level, he has a high upside and has flashed perimeter shooting and shot-making ability throughout the winter and spring. Deng has committed to State Fair, where he should benefit from a few more years of development, as his best basketball is still ahead of him.   [player_tooltip player_id='2338886' first='Parker' last='Hoffman'] | 6'8" Forward | Marquette   Hoffman, who was featured in the last update, has picked up another offer, this time from William Penn. More opportunities should be on the way as well, as the mobile big brings a lot to the table with his ability to play with his back to the basket or face up and stretch the floor when needed. It will be worth monitoring what level Parker ultimately ends up at when all is said and done.   Croix Garcia | 5'10" Guard | Shawnee Mission South   Garcia, a 2028 prospect, has received an offer from Saint Mary. Get used to hearing the name, as Croix is a shifty and quick guard who can really score the basketball. He separates and creates space well, excelling at getting to his shot off the bounce. He should run the show for Shawnee Mission South this winter and play alongside [player_tooltip player_id='2205710' first='Conor' last='Kerrigan'] as one of the better duos in Kansas.
