July UAA Notebook: NC Standouts (Part Two)

The month of July is wrapping up as the live periods are now in the rear-view mirror and there has been a ton of high level basketball going on all over the State of North Carolina and the entire country. In this recap we're going to take another look at some of the top NC prospects doing their thing on the UAA Circuit as they made live period stops in Atlanta, Georgia, and Louisville, Kentucky! Without further delay, let's take a look!    Jones provided real production for TLBA 17u throughout July on the UAA Circuit as he found himself in a key role within this group. CJ is a guard that can play on or off the ball as he possesses a great blend of outside touch and a quick first step. In the month of July for TLBA, Jones averaged 11.7 Points, 3.0 Assists, and 2.6 Rebounds per game. Jones has proven he can play a key role in a wide open system predicated on making quick decisions and plays when the ball is in your hands. Jones has also shown the ability to help run your offense in a primary spot for stretches as he's really comfortable handling pressure. He's got a real chance to rise in this next upcoming rankings update as he continues to prove his value to these teams.     Duhon is another key contributor to A Wigg Elite 17u getting some key wins on the UAA Circuit in July as he's continuously making strides to becoming a bonafide next level prospect. Duhon helped give this team some really consistent shot-making throughout the month of July as he made timely plays for them throughout the month. In July he shot 39% from beyond the arc helping space the floor for this team and capitalizing on his touches as most of his attempts are from beyond the arc. Basketball is all about carving out a role for yourself and flourishing within it and that is exactly what Duhon was able to do in the month of July for A Wigg Elite. Look for him as a potential riser in our soon to debut 2027 rankings update.     Terry is a super versatile wing that spent the month of July with Top Shot 17u on the UAA Circuit where he came in and provided them with consistent production and impact at both ends of the floor. Terry had solid moments in the first session but after gelling with his new teammates he was able to really show who he is in session two. In Louisville, he averaged 11.5 Points, 3.7 Rebounds, 0.5 Assists, 0.7 Blocks, and 0.7 Steals per game on 48/39/70 shooting splits. Terry just announced he'll be making the move to Hargrave Academy this upcoming season so we wish him the best of luck on his move to Virginia!     Mims is a 2030 prospect that is really emerging in the State of North Carolina as he proved himself as a guy to monitor with the work he put in with [program_tooltip program_id='2375668' first='SW15H' last='Elite'] 15u on the UAA Circuit. Mims is a quick and shifty guard with excellent scoring touch from multiple levels and feel as a passer in ball screen situations. During the month of July, Mims averaged 8.2 Points, 3.3 Assists, 2.8 Rebounds per game with 42/50/73 shooting splits. Mims will be at Broughton next season where he has a chance to develop into a really important player there and beyond.     Motley is a super smart lead guard that continues to make strides in his game while providing this A Wigg Elite 15u team with high quality production on the UAA Circuit. In the month of July, Motley averaged 10.1 Points, 5.6 Rebounds, 7.4 Assists, and 0.6 Steals per game on 38/26/75 shooting splits. Motley's ability to make plays for others is remarkably advanced at this stage in his career. When you combine his vision along with his positional size, it's clear that Motley has an incredible foundation for a young prospect. As he continues to become a more consistently efficient scorer, he'll only prove to be worthy as a guy who will likely finish in the upper echelon of the NC 2029 rankings.     Lail is a shot making guard out of Combine Academy and he was a key piece for Carolina Premier's 16u group on the UAA Circuit all summer long. Lail was a guy consistently in double figures on the scoresheet with multiple made threes is many of those games as his ability to make shots with this group gives them a guy that can help swing games in their direction. Lail's ability to produce on this level along with the experienced he gained by playing here will only serve to help him as he returns to Combine Academy with what should be a heightened role amongst their team.
