With 64 teams competing, defensive intensity and versatility were on full display throughout the week. The prospects featured below consistently impacted games with their ability to guard multiple positions, apply pressure at the point of attack, generate turnovers, protect the rim, and make the hustle plays that often changed the momentum of a game. He anchored the paint with excellent timing as a rim protector, consistently challenging and altering shots without putting himself in foul trouble. Huffman showed improved discipline, staying vertical around the basket and using his size and instincts to erase scoring opportunities. His blend of size, length, and athleticism allowed him to switch across multiple positions without sacrificing effectiveness, giving opposing offenses very few favorable matchups. He consistently stayed in front of ball handlers, disrupted passing lanes, and used his physical tools to contest shots all over the floor. He consistently disrupted opposing offenses with his activity, instincts, and willingness to take on difficult defensive assignments. Whether it was forcing turnovers, contesting shots, or making timely rotations, Kabeya found ways to impact winning without needing the ball in his hands. His rim protection immediately jumped off the page, as he consistently erased scoring opportunities and made opponents think twice before attacking the paint. Meira showed outstanding timing as a shot blocker, covered ground well around the basket, and anchored the defense with his presence inside. Despite his size, he moved well enough to match up with guards, sliding his feet, cutting off driving lanes, and rarely allowing ball handlers to gain an advantage off the dribble. His lateral quickness, length, and ability to recover made him a difficult defender to shake in space.
