GBRA Nationals - Ramsey's Friday Night Top Performers

The live periods might be over, but that doesn't mean the summer basketball scene is over. In fact, there were four head college basketball coaches in attendance at Turnstone on Friday night in Fort Wayne. Bluffton, IU-East, Rose-Hulman, and Saint Francis were all there watch games to begin the weekend at GRBA Nationals. Prep Hoops Indiana was in attendance as well and, as always, will now highlight some of the top performers from the day.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Indiana Stack 17u put together an excellent roster for this weekend's GRBA Nationals and Dixon was the catalyst leading them to a convincing victory on Friday night in Fort Wayne. His high-level passing ability was on full display whipping it all over the court to his variety of talented teammates. We look forward to getting to watch more of Dixon and his team throughout the weekend at the GRBA Nationals.     [program_tooltip program_id='2383637' first='Summit' last='City Elite'] - Vance 16u cruised to a blowout victory on Friday night and this rising junior guard from Blackford High School was the engine of everything they did offensively. Fetz is known as a big time scorer having put up impressive scoring numbers for two seasons at Mississinewa High School and consistently in the summers with this group. However, it was his passing and playmaking ability that really stood out on Friday night. Fetz is a very good and willing passer with excellent court vision. He still scored 20 points while dishing out an unofficial 18 assists.     Grieser is an undersized forward that ends up having a ton of success around the basket because of his excellent footwork, strength, and non-stop motor. He is a guy who routinely plays harder than everyone else on the floor and it leads to scoring opportunities inside. On Friday night the 6'2" forward led [program_tooltip program_id='2383637' first='Summit' last='City Elite'] - Vance 16u with 21 points in a blowout victory. His finishing ability around the basket against bigger defenders is very impressive.     When you play really hard good things tend to happen. Lemons is a great example of what a non-stop motor can get you on the basketball court. The 6'4" super athletic forward was dominant on the glass, finished several putbacks, scored consistently in transition, and was a consistent interior scorer off of his teammates' drives. Lemons, a rising senior at Michigan City High School, ended up scoring 28 points in [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] Gold's Friday night win.     As [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] Gold 17u started to pull away in the second half it was Mays who was running the show and making things happen offensively. The talented 5'11" point guard is an outstanding ball handler and always keeps his head up when he is in attack mode. Mays made so many great plays off of the bounce for his teammates while also showcasing his own scoring ability at the end of his drives. He finished with 16 points and a bunch of assists in what turned into a blowout victory.     LVL Up (GBL) 17u ended up having a tough second half on their way to letting Friday's game get away from them, but Rogers-Smith was outstanding early on for them. The athletic 6'1" guard was having a ton of success while playing off of ballscreens. He was able to knock down several pull-up jump shots and a couple of three-pointers as well. Then, as the defense started to extend out more, he would split the defenders at the point of the screen and get downhill for a variety of athletic finishes. Rogers-Smith, a rising senior at New Haven High School, finished with 14 points to lead the way in the scoring column.     It continues to be an excellent summer for this rising junior point guard from Bishop Luers High School. Szaferski is one of the best pure passers in Indiana's Class of 2028. On Friday night he was excellent hitting the roll man while playing off of ballscreens while also showing off his own driving ability. He can shoot it from the perimeter if you back off too far or beat you downhill to the rim when you press up on him. Szaferski scored a team-leading 14 points, but LVL Up (P32) 17u came up short in their Friday night contest.
