D1 Showcase: 2027 Stock-Riser Wings (Bellevue College)

This is a solid group of wings who raised their stock at the D1 Showcase. They all stand at around 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-5 and provide some physical scoring, rebounding, and a few add in some extra playmaking. Check out this group of impressive wings from the event.    Wardenaar is a very balanced player who did a great job playing at his pace, dictating tempo in the half court, and showcasing his ability to control their offense from different spots on the floor. Always seemed on balance and playing from a position of strength, and just made things easy on himself making the early, simple decisions. Showed some great touch on a few baseline floaters, a pretty lethal crossover from the perimeter or high post, and led them with 45 points against Sumner and 34 against Edmonds-Woodway.     Axton has been a steady riser for us over the past year and a lot of it has been due to his continued improvements from the 3-point line. He's gotten to the point where that outside shot is a real strength of his game and it allows him to find more space behind that first line of defenders to make some plays. Did just that at the event, dropping in outside shots, attacking closeouts with control, and showing some poise in the heart of the defense to pick out some cutters. Led the Bears with 25 points versus Bothell and 30 against Sumner.     Kandola's play was one of the biggest surprises from the event for me. Overall, played a lot more aggressive and strong with the ball than I had previously seen. Looked very confident working off the dribble into one or two dribble pull-ups. Has stood out in the past as a 3-point threat but wasn't content to settle for only threes and did a great job picking his spots, mixing up his attacks off the catch, and being more assertive with his opportunities. Also did some great work on the glass and really impressed with his overall approach to the game.     Kollmann is another wing who has shown he can knock down the outside shots at a high rate and then play off of that ability to draw defenses out. He has a pretty quick release from outside and did some nice work off the bounce to create downhill and play with a little creativity. Also made some defensive plays at the rim to show off his athletic impact. Dropped 25 points against Shorewood and 26 against Lake City.     Douglass is a guy who showed a solid all-around game last season. Has some decent size and strength, and generally does well to take what is available and not force the ball into bad spots. Can hit open shots from different levels and shows he can pick out some pocket passes and be a good additional facilitator in the half court. He led them with 21 points against Central Valley and 25 points against Edmonds-Woodway.     Another big surprise for me at the event was Ruvalcaba. He played with great confidence downhill, looked to attack gaps with every touch and generally was a strong player with the ball. Handled contact both on drives and at the rim, and finished well from either side of the hoop and with either hand. Very impressed with his play and he helped give them a consistent, physical scorer alongside Wardenaar. He led them with 26 points against Kennedy.
