Another big surprise for me at the event was Ruvalcaba. He played with great confidence downhill, looked to attack gaps with every touch and generally was a strong player with the ball. Handled contact both on drives and at the rim, and finished well from either side of the hoop and with either hand. Very impressed with his play and he helped give them a consistent, physical scorer alongside Wardenaar. He led them with 26 points against Kennedy.

Was really impressed with my first sighting of Ruvalcaba at the NW June D1 Recruiting Event. He’s a reliable secondary scoring option for Royal who will create some opportunities downhill, has the strength and touch to finish around bodies and from different angles, and showed up with some highlight defensive plays. He could be a riser over the course of the year as Royal contends for a 1A title.
