2029 Rankings: Biggest Movers

The Sophomore class is deep and there are players who move way up the rankings with every update. Several members of the class have earned their first D1 offers in recent months. With each update, several new names continue to rise. With almost 200 players ranked already, this 2029 class is shaping up to be the deepest we have ever ranked. Here's a look at the biggest movers in the Sophomore class. This does not include any players who were previously covered in our top ten articles.    I really liked Morris when he came to the PH Freshman Expo last fall but he had a little bit of a quiet Freshman season. Gabe moved up from 25th to 16th on the back of a strong spring and summer which culminated in him announcing his first offer this week. Southern Miss was the first school to offer Morris. It will be interesting to see how he and fellow freshman Brycen Eubanks perform this year with the target on their backs for a change.     If you're looking for a player in Louisville to bet on to break out this season, Wheat is an excellent candidate. He climbs from 37th to 21st and I wouldn't be surprised if he flourished this season at Atherton. A big wing who can score the ball at a high clip, Tony is at his best when he's attacking the paint He's strong enough to finish through contact at the rim and should get to the free throw line consistently as he will play with the ball in his hands quite a bit this season.     Persley makes a huge climb from 63rd to 22nd in this update and may still be underrated. With his size and skill set, I think Levi has the potential to be amongst the top 15 or so kids in this class. I'd be interested to see him match up against some of the higher ranked kids in the state and get a better feel for exactly where he belongs. Persley is a big wing who should definitely be tracked over the next few years.     Jelly has really impressed me on multiple occasions. And not just because he scored double figures against my team last season (twice). In this update, Washington moves from 40th to 30th and is continuing to trend upward. A driver first and shooter second, Toma probably needs to be more of a point guard as he moves forward. Wherever he plays, Jelly is going to play hard and that's what I really appreciate about him. His motor runs at almost all times and he values winning.     The single biggest mover in the update, Thomas goes from 128th to 31st in the class and has a chance to breakout this season in a major way. As part of the KBC 15u group this spring, Tre operated with the ball in his hands quite a bit and showed good decision making on offense and a willingness to sit down and guard on defense. With Tre and Anthony Davis in the top 31 of this class, look for the Purples to make a push back to the top of the 4th region as soon as this season.
