The Sophomore class is deep and there are players who move way up the rankings with every update. Several members of the class have earned their first D1 offers in recent months. With each update, several new names continue to rise. With almost 200 players ranked already, this 2029 class is shaping up to be the deepest we have ever ranked. Here's a look at the top shooting guards in the Sophomore class. This does not include any players who were previously covered in our top ten articles.

One of the more well rounded scorers in this class, Withrow is consistently overlooked when discussing top players. Matt doesn't stand out in layup lines but once the game starts, he's a certified bucket getter. Withrow has started to evolve from a bully guard to a more balanced scorer who knows how to get to his spots. He's also a more than capable defender that will sit down and guard his position.

Qyntin is a big time shooter whose best basketball is still all ahead of him. A good athlete who can sit down and guard when he wants to, Woods thrives in a fast paced game. Q has a quick trigger on his jumper and is comfortable from deep range. If Woods doesn't grow a few more inches, he will need to continue improving his ball handling and potentially switch to more of an on the ball role as opposed to the off ball role he specializes in now.

Butler has had some big time guards since Kevin Geary took over and Lowery could be the next one up. A quick guard who gets to spots and has a fast jumper, Triston can be a killer in the midrange. The Bears have their eyes on getting back to Rupp Arena. To accomplish that, Triston will have to be a big part of their offense and he could be one of the breakout players in Louisville this season.

Chase was a top 5 player in this class before a season ending injury that also cost him his 15u AAU season. If Bentley gets back to 100%, I expect he will be right back near the top of this class in no time.

Evangel has a young but loaded roster and Grant could be the best on the roster while also being the least talked about prospect. Rayshaun is an all around scoring threat and also plays with a really good motor on the defensive end. Grant is capable of playing on or off the ball at the high school level but will need to continue tightening his ball handling before he gets to the collegiate level in a couple of years. Keep an eye on Rayshaun and Evangel this season.
