Our end of summer rankings rollout continues in New England with a look at the Class of 2028!

This class has been bolstered by a handful of newcomers entering the region, and also by the continued development of some of New England's top native prospects.

In all, this update features 158 ranked prospects and an additional 215 that appear on the watch list. Positionally, there are 32 point guards, 26 combo guards, 27 shooting guards, 35 small forwards, 23 power forwards, and 14 centers ranked in this update.

All six New England states are represented in these rankings, with prospects coming from the NEPSAC, the Power 5, the Nike EYBL Scholastic League, and each of the six state associations.

We'll start our coverage for this update with a look at how the Top 5 looks coming out of the summer:

At #1 is [player_tooltip player_id='2194747' first='Kevin' last='Wheatley Jr.'] out of Masters Academy International in Massachusetts. The 6'6" wing is one of the top prospects in this class nationally and spent part of his spring at the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team minicamp. He's a playmaker on both ends of the floor that impresses with his versatility, ability to score the basketball, and compete level defensively.

Checking in at #2 is [player_tooltip player_id='2594613' first='Derek' last='Swartz'] out of the New Hampton School in New Hampshire. The 6'5" guard fills up a stat sheet and, even when he isn't scoring, finds different ways to impact the game. He's a terrific rebounder for his positional, has a good feel for the game with the ball in his hands, and continues to develop his all-around game on the offensive end of the floor.

Holding the #3 spot is [player_tooltip player_id='2571906' first='Malachi' last='Odugbela'] out of the St. Andrew's School in Rhode Island. The 6'5" guard is one of the region's best scorers and impresses with his feel for the game in isolation situations. He can really shoot the basketball, but has come along with his off the bounce game and interior finishing. With his length, positional size, and athleticism, he has the potential to develop into a defensive stopper too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548185' first='Kelvin' last='Anderson'], out of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, comes in at #4. A newcomer to the region, the 6'2" guard had an impressive summer on the travel circuit and catches the eye with his motor and compete level. He gets after it on the defensive end of the floor, can score it from all three levels, and shows a good feel for the game when operating out of ball screens.

Rounding out the Top 5, at #5, is [player_tooltip player_id='2202029' first='Luka' last='Kuqo'] out of the Newman School in Massachusetts. The 6'10" forward was a breakout star of the spring, catching the attention of high major programs and asserting himself as one of the region's top big men. He's got some inside-out scoring ability, does a nice job of cleaning up on the defensive glass, and plays with a good combination of athleticism, mobility, physicality, and skill.

Check back throughout the week as we take a look at the updated Top10, our Newcomers to Watch, the Rankings Risers, and more!

Our end of summer rankings rollout continues in New England with a look at the Class of 2028!
