I attended day 1 of BIBSI at Mesquite High School. I wasn't able to watch all the teams last night, but I will by the end of the weekend. Here are all the standouts from last night:

[player_tooltip player_id='2532089' first='Darren' last='Ford'] AZ Compass Prep National:

The physical guard made an immediate impression in his lone BIBSI game, utilizing his sturdy frame to bully his way to preferred spots on the floor. Ford displayed a high-level ability to knock down tough, contested jumpers with defenders draped over him. His midrange game is exceptionally crafty, featuring a deep bag of step-backs and counters. As a national-level prospect, expect him to maintain this dominance at AZ Compass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2292816' first='Luke' last='Galvanoni'] Mesquite:

Galvanoni put together a complete performance on Thursday, showcasing the versatility that makes him such a dual threat on the wing. He possesses a fluid handle and guard skills that are rare for his size, often looking for his smooth perimeter jumper. Beyond the shooting, he attacks closeouts with purpose and finishes well through contact at the rim. Luke is a prime candidate for a massive breakout season at Mesquite.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432574' first='Terrance' last='Byrd'] Sandra Day O'Connor:

Byrd was nothing short of spectacular on Thursday night, anchoring the defense with elite rim protection and five-plus blocks. Carrying momentum from the Pangos All-American Camp, he exploited a lightning-quick first step to blow by primary defenders. He gets to the basket and finishes with authority. Terrance continues to solidify his status as a high-upside national prospect with each outing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2276223' first='Kingston' last='Montague'] Basha:

The dynamic scoring guard put his full offensive repertoire on display, proving he can score from all three levels. Montague is masterful at changing speeds, getting downhill at will before stopping on a dime for his pull-up jumper. His "hesi" pull-up from beyond the arc is an elite weapon that he uses with high efficiency to keep the defense honest. Defensively, his anticipation is top-tier, frequently beating opponents to the spot to draw charges. As he continues to polish both ends of his game, his ceiling remains incredibly high.

[player_tooltip player_id='2146268' first='Brock' last='Knee'] Arcadia:

The sharpshooter found his rhythm early at BIBSI, showing his lightning-quick release that allows him to punish even the smallest defensive lapses. Knee is an expert at moving without the basketball, constantly manipulating screens to find pockets of open space. He pairs that offensive gravity with a high motor on the defensive end. Expect Knee to be a hot name as he carries this momentum into the rest of June and the summer circuit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2194805' first='Marquice' last='Pless'] Higley:

The 2029 guard was incredible against AZ Compass on Thursday. He showcased elite athleticism, highlighted by multiple dunks. He possesses a high-arcing shot that he creates comfortably over defenders, and he shoots effectively off the bounce from both the three-point line and the midrange area. As an elite 2029 prospect, Pless is clearly on an upward trajectory.
