Today, we highlight a pair of 3A teams from Washington that should be in contention for a spot at the state tournament next year. Seattle Prep loses a couple of standout guards who provided leadership and steady play last season, but they return some key posts and wings, along with a few talented younger guards who will step into larger roles. Shorewood made it to the round of 12 at last season's state tournament before losing to O'Dea. They lose one of their key energy and all-around contributors but return a solid core and will be among the top teams in the Wesco 2A/3A again next winter.

Seattle Prep (WA)

Classification: 3A

2025-26 Record: 16-12

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2140837' first='Kellen' last='Matt'] 6-5 SG 2027

Matt took a big step forward last season as the clear number two option for the Panthers. He's a wing who can stretch the floor, has the strength to operate off the dribble and work to his spots, and can be a pretty athletic and powerful finisher at the cup. He's also one of their key perimeter defenders and should be matched up with most team's best wings and scoring guards.

[player_tooltip player_id='2895737' first='Tripp' last='Davis Ciro'] 6-3 SG 2028

Ciro is going to add some key depth to their backcourt this winter. He's a hard working player who will bring activity across every phase of the game. A physical defender, will chip in with defensive boards, deflections, and can knock down open shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2548199' first='Cordell' last='Jones'] 6-1 PG 2028

Jones got solid minutes last season and showed off his potential as a speedy point man. Has some legit quickness with the rock, can get into gaps, sinks open perimeter shots, and should be relied on to be a primary creator for them this next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3586266' first='Luke' last='Blue'] 6-1 PG 2029

Blue is another guard who should step up and add solid back court depth. He's a creative player who can bring a different dynamic to the floor with his vision and passing ability. Has shown he can dice up defenses by zipping passes through from the perimeter or working to create for teammates off his penetration. Skilled guard who will be one to watch over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2140818' first='Jack' last='Thompson'] 6-10 C 2027

The Prep big man will be a key interior presence for them, as a kid who can establish low position and score, but also a player who has shown touch from further away. Most of his game is predicated on getting big around the hoop, but he has the touch to pop up and knock down elbow jumpers, and can even get involved in some perimeter actions and drop in an occasional three.

Shorewood (WA)

Classification: 3A

2025-26 Record: 19-8

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2375345' first='Thomas' last='Moles'] 6-0 PG 2027

Moles is Shorewood's engine, and he is a kid that just keeps going. A high energy kid who will initiate a lot of their stuff and has the toughness to constantly split defenders and get paint touches. He will knock down some outside shots, but his bread and butter is putting pressure on the interior, and then ramping up the pressure on the other end.

[player_tooltip player_id='3585353' first='Parker' last='Brown'] 6-5 SF 2029

Brown is a skilled forward who can play by the rim or work from further out. He should see a bigger role this winter and has a pretty versatile skill set. Can defend posts, does a good job getting vertical and will block some shots by walling up and getting big. Can knock down then outside shot and has pretty good touch from different levels.

[player_tooltip player_id='2746873' first='Tyler' last='Marlow'] 6-3 SF 2028

Marlow really emerged last season as a consistent scoring option for the Stormrays. He's an athletic wing with some strength, can get downhill, finish through contact at the rim, and has continued to improve as a shooter, both spotting up and off the dribble. He's got the mindset to contribute across the board though and can fill up the stat sheet with his constant activity.
