Both of these squads placed sixth at their respective state tournaments this past winter, and while Glacier Peak lost some key players, Grant is bringing back the majority of their squad while also adding Oregon's top-ranked player in the 2028 class, [player_tooltip player_id='2427510' first='Carter' last='Lockhart']. Grant should be one of the tougher teams to face at the recruiting event, and while Glacier Peak will look to some new faces after their impressive run over the past few years, they still have a couple of key starters returning to lead them next winter. Let's get to know these two squads as they get ready for next weekend's NW June D1 Recruiting Event.

Glacier Peak (WA)

Classification: 4A

2025-26 Record: 23-4

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2466490' first='Aaron' last='Thomas'] 5-7 PG 2027

A player who can be a real disruptor on the ball, Thomas has quick feet, good balance, reactions, and a long reach. Not just one of their top on-ball defenders, Thomas also uses his quickness and burst to attack gaps and get to the hoop, where he has some bounce and strength. He'll be counted on to step up as a primary ball-handling option.

[player_tooltip player_id='1936885' first='Edison' last='Kan'] 6-3 SG 2027

Kan is a strong guard who has showcased his scoring punch, playing a pretty balanced offensive game scoring inside and out. When he is hitting from outside, he is pretty tough to stop. Has good vision to identify secondary defenders and pick his spots to score inside the arc. He will also be counted on to handle the rock and be an initiator in the half-court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2795301' first='Liam' last='Dossman'] 6-6 SF 2028

Dossman is a long wing who should see a bigger role next winter after playing limited minutes this past season. His length is a real factor, helping him have an impact around the rim on both ends of the floor, and pick up extra possessions with his rebounding. He's shown some good footwork in spots, too, and can operate from the wings or either post.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375333' first='Zach' last='Albright'] 6-5 PF 2027

The UW football commit is a strong post who will rack up double-doubles and can carry a heavy offensive load when he is getting deep position. An excellent rebounder too, Albright will get it done on both ends of the floor with his ability to hold his spots and rip down boards. A big-time motor helps him have a constant impact.

[player_tooltip player_id='3586267' first='Cohen' last='Ganje'] 6-6 PF 2029

Another big body to add to the rotation, Ganje is a hard-working post who gets himself into good spots on both ends of the floor. A good mover without the rock, strong rebounder, and a kid who can leverage that strength to put it on the floor and bully his way to the rim. Can step out and hit an occasion three, and should be a factor for them this winter.

Grant (OR)

Classification: 6A

2025-26 Record: 20-9

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2427519' first='Jacob' last='Harper-Grant'] 6-5 SF 2028

Last year's leading scorer, Harper-Grant is a wing with size that gets buckets in multiple ways. He can get hot from the perimeter but is also proficient at getting to the basket and has the ability to draw fouls for free throw opportunities.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427510' first='Carter' last='Lockhart'] PG 2028

Looking to join the Generals as a transfer is Lockhart, an extremely skilled guard who can equally score as well as pass the ball. The lefty has a smooth stroke from three, is extremely proficient off the dribble, and possesses a diverse layup package around the hoop. He already holds scholarship offers from San Francisco and Oregon.

[player_tooltip player_id='2485547' first='Jamarea' last='Sanders'] 6-5 SF 2028

Arguably one of the top stock risers this spring/summer so far from the Class of 2028 is Sanders, who played AAU ball with the NW Rotary Rebels. Extremely long and athletic, the rising junior is an outstanding finisher in transition and has the ability to drop daggers from three-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427509' first='Malik' last='Mason'] 6-6 SF 2028

Another versatile player for Grant is Mason, who played spring ball with Select Basketball out of Idaho. The rising junior can score the ball both inside and out, does good work on the board, and has the physicality to guard multiple positions. He's also an outstanding passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2744610' first='Abraham' last='Cogan'] 6-6 SF 2029

One of the top players in the Class of 2029, Cogan is also arguably the top run-and-jump athlete in the entire state. You can count on the rising sophomore to make at least a couple of plays a game around the rim using his elite leaping ability, whether it's throwing down dunks or blocking shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427522' first='Jaylen' last='Mills'] 5-9 PG 2028

A pass-first point guard, Mills is extremely quick off the dribble and makes great decisions on the break. He's extremely sticky as an on-the-ball defender and doesn't back down from anyone.
