NorCal 2027 Rankings Update: More Top 100

PH NorCal 2027 Rankings were updated recently, we've added over 40 newcomers to increase or rankings count to 245 prospects with another 100 on the Watch List. In this group we have prospects who made a move up into the top with good play on the court. NorCal is loaded with prospective college prospects for all levels.    After sitting out last season, Pennington has played well in the Spring with his club team. He's grown, might add a few more inches. He's a shooting guard/wing that squares up, shot ready, good release. He'll knock down 3's in all the right spots, plus coming down in transition. He's a good ball handler, has court vision, moves the ball. He's not afraid to take a hit driving to the basket and helping rebound.     He has good size and a skill set for the guard/wing position. He's always played well with his club team while we're watching. He has some natural talent that might be ready for a breakout season. At 6'3 the lefty can get to the basket, score in traffic often from different angles, when he makes up his mind. Had a good showing at Section 7.     He can function at both guard positions. A solid body, good handles deals with ball pressure, has court vision will move the ball. He's got ways to free himself to get a bucket, at times when the team needs one. He'll come down court at times looking to shoot 3's in transition, work around the perimeter, keeping his dribble live to get into the paint to challenge blockers, or pull up for paint jumpers, maybe a floater.     Barnes IV is set to assume the point guard duties for his high school team this season. He's a solid body, quality handles, deals with ball pressure. He has court vision, might be a pass first type in this offense. He has the strength and a burst to finish through contact and hit the paint jumper. He's a strong defender, moves his feet, can bump you off stride without fouling.     He's athletic plays positions 1-3. He's stronger than he looks, conditioned, good in transition racing up court both ways for transition dunks, and chase down blocks. He's a ball handler, willing passer. He can create his own shot opportunities. He gets good lift on his mid-range jumper, going up for blocks, and rebounds. He'll square up for open 3's. He defend, denies can guard multiple positions. He averaged 12.2pts, 6.3R, 2.8A, 2.5Stls per game.     He's playing well in club ball, had a decent showing at Section 7. Most of his contributions come working around the basket and post areas, he'll shoot open 3's on occasion. He has size and improved post footwork to score around the rim, keeps the ball up. He's post passer, can use a dribble or two to get closer, hits the short jumper. He rebounds.     He's bulked up, looks stronger, moves with a purpose. He's using his size, more aggressive using 1 or two dribbles trying to get to the basket. Improved footwork, planting, balance and powering up off two feet. He has the strength to play through contact. He's getting rebounds, more physical defending in the paint. He's a good passers, moves the ball.     He has strength, he's a fast energetic guard, plays hard on both sides of the ball. He's a good defender, moves his feet, lateral movement, puts pressure on ball handlers, denies shooters, hard to get past him on the perimeter. He's fast pushing and looking to move the ball up in transition. He's a ball mover with the handles, and burst to split, and get into the paint.     A good size player from the Tracy Area. He's has decent handles to get his shot using quick crossovers, change of direction, he can get by the first defender, deal with the traffic to get a basket. He'll use a couple of dribbles to get a elbow jumper, and a step back at times for a 3-pointer, he'll post up sometimes turning using lengthy arms. He boxes out defending taller players, gets his fair share of rebound.     A good ball handling guard has a set of skills to get things done from both positions. He moves the ball, makes the extra pass, makes good decisions. He's capable of putting points on the board, works within the flow of the offense. He can create for himself, a good crossover, attacks the paint, he's good in transition passing or taking it to the rim. He can defend multiple positions.     Thomas sat out last season for transferring. He is back on the radar playing well in the Spring. He's a solid body scoring guard that can run the point. He has handles, footspeed a ball mover. He'll be aggressive putting points on the board with this team. He's a well built guard will take it strong to the basket, along the perimeter, and in transition, has good lift on the mid-range, will get rebounds. He'll defend multiple positions.
