NorCal 2027 Prospect Summer Notebook

PH NorCal is in the gym every weekend in the Summer attending events. Some of these prospects are working under the radar, some are leading their teams in the June high school basketball season and others are newcomers we're seeing for the first time. All will be attending Cali-Live. A premiere event for high school basketball in California.    He's showing a versatile style of play that can help his team in other ways. He's a big guard with decent handles, vision and solid ball movement in transition, and around the perimeter. He's attacking off ball, spending time at the high and mid post generating scoring opportunities, paint jumpers, use 1 or 2 dribbles to get to the front of the rim. At 6'5 he rebounds, moves well on defense, can guard multiple positions.     He's a solid body physical player that continues to improve his play from the guard position. He's a good ball handler, uses strength and balance driving hard to the basket along the perimeter, and high post at times. At 5'10 he can play through contact. He'll shoot a rhythm 3 along the perimeter, handle the ball up top with ball movement around the perimeter, and feeding the post. He's rebounding guard.     An underrated guard from the Tracy Area. He's got plenty of ways to generate buckets on drives to the basket avoiding hard hits, though he can play through contact and score in traffic. He's got the footspeed and handles, with change of direction, stop and go, and finish with the inside hands. He's difficult to contain in transition. He's an active defender has the footspeed to lock in on ball handlers.     He's not just a good shooting guard at his point, though he can knock down opens 3's if left unattended too often. Catch 3's from the corners, and wings, might use a dribble to free himself. He's an improving point guard that can run the teams offense in half-court sets. He shows patience, keeps his dribble live, the offense flowing, quick passing/ball movement, he handles doubles.     A good all around prospect with an improving offensive skill set. He's taking and making open 3's better than before. He's got decent handles and toughness going and finishing strong at the rim from the perimeter, and in transition, might throw one down. He's an excellent long arm defender that can defend a shooter, and stay with a ball handler.       He's playing his way off the Watch List, and having a productive early June with his high school team. He's got some tools to generate a bucket. He dropped a couple of 3's off the dribble with a hand in his face. His quick dribbles, and crossovers can free him up to get buckets or assists in the paint. He's got quick hands, active feet to get steals.     Crawford has springs in his legs, and good activity around the rim for a player 6'2. He gets putbacks, tap ins, helps rebound. He goes hard in transition finishing above the rim, might use a Euro step to avoid a charge, he hustle back for a chasedown block. He's a lengthy arm defender, uses his speed and toughness defending multiple positions.     A legitimate 3-point shooter if left open too often. In a fast paced offense he gets wide in transition, runs to corners, shot ready and around the perimeter, has good movement without the ball. He'll use a dribble or two for a mid-range, or drive into the paint. What gets overlooked is his passing skills, he's a ball mover, makes the extra pass, find his cutters to the basket, and will dump it off underneath to players with a better chance to score.
