Nike Elite 100: Athletic Posts and Scoring Combos Shine Monday
Nike Elite 100 Camp had it's first round of games on Monday night in St. Louis. The camp held for the premier 2028 and 2029 class did not disappoint as the stars came out and under the radar prospects emerged! We dive into it all in Nike Elite 100: Athletic Two Way Posts and Scoring Guards Dominate!
Mamadou Issa Sow (Bella Vista Prep, AZ – 2029 – AZ Unity)
Checking in at 6'8” 203 pounds the Arizona product put on a show in the first game on the defensive end. He was an absolute force with his rim protection swatting shot after shot. Also runs the floor and knocked in a baseline jumper. Ton of upside here! He had 7 points, but left an even larger impact on the game.
Malik Moore (Union Catholic, NJ – 2028 – PSA Cardinals)
Moore has that “it” factor to his game you just can't teach. Carries himself with a quiet swagger and confidence. Acrobatic layups one after another at the rim. Then he got hot from three draining a deep pull up along with a spot up corner triple. Ripped off 13 points in the opener.
Austin Leonard (Grayson, GA – 2029 – Jet Academy)
The 6'3” two guard from the Peach state was very forceful as a perimeter defender at the point of attack. On one play he ripped the ball out of the hands of his opponent taking it the other way where he was fouled. Scored multiple times in transition off his defense.
Jordan McDaniel (Roseville, MI – 2029 – The Family)
McDaniel is a 5'9” PG and everyone who knows me knows I'm not a fan of tiny guards, but this kid has the juice! He lit it up in the first half of the opening game ripping off an array of scoop shots, floaters, and crafty finishes at the cup with body control. Also is a pesky defender with scrappy defense. Dropped 10 points.
Payton Wilson (Holy Cross, NY - 2028 – PSA Cardinals)
Wilson measured at 6'6” 217 pounds without shoes. High-motor post that gets after it on the offensive end on the glass for put backs, drained a corner three, and sprinted the floor hard consistently for 9 points.
Michai White (Brewster Academy – 2028 – City Rocks)
The 6'0” scoring lead guard went off for 15 points in the opener. His pull up game was on point from the jump creating off the bounce for pull up twos and threes. Like how he pushes with speed and always forces the issue in the open floor.
Emmanuel Nwabuoka (Strake Jesuit, TX – 2028 – JL3 Elite)
One of my favorite players on the night was this 6'9” post from Texas. Monster on the offensive glass, snatches rebounds pushing on the break with some open floor handles, and flashed a good shooting stroke at the line. One of the plays of the night was when he swatted or more like grabbed the ball out of a three point shooters grasp then began the break the other way. He had 6 points.
William Phillips (Home School, CA – 2029 – Oakland Soldiers)
The home schooler schooled some opponents on Monday evening! The 6'6” forward ran the floor hard for rim running scores along with being able to put it on the deck for slashes including an and-1 notching 8 points.
Stephan Ragoo (Christ the King, NY – 2028 – NY Lightning)
It's not all about scoring and despite only one bucket we thought this 6'1” NYC guard did work on the first evening. Couple deflections on the defensive end, drive into a step back shot, and dished the rock throughout the game with a ton of flair.
Kyle Sanders (Campbell Hall, CA – 2028 – Vegas Elite)
Sanders jumps off the floor at 6'10” without shoes and 210 pounds with a 90 inch wingspan. Used that on the defensive end in a major way as he proved to be an outstanding defender. Super mobile causing turnovers with his positioning and moving his feet. Elite shot blocker!
William Brunson (Rutgers Prep, NJ – 2028 – NY Rens)
Brunson is a well put together forward that has a sweet shooting stroke. Had it rolling in their second game of the evening draining feathery spot up threes from the corners, pull ups from deep, and worked well in the 15 foot range for 7 points.
Quali Giran (Millikan HS, CA – 2029 – Oakland Soldiers)
This rising sophomore checks in as a 6'0” lead guard that can really go! Showcased burst in the open floor along with the ability to change gears quickly. Transition layups, quick first step, and drained a long ball for 7 points.
Micah Gunter (Greensboro Day School, VA – 6'2” – Team United)
Gunter was the leading scorer for his team in their second game of the night. He dropped 10 points showcasing a lethal stop and pop game in the mid-range along with from three.
Alex Jenkins (Wellington Sports Academy, FL – 2028 – Nightrydas)
Jenkins goes 6'3” with a thick frame at 203 pounds. Can bully through opponents on his way downhill to the cup. One of his more impressive moves was a hang dribble into a three. He had 7 points.
Igniire Muhammad-El (Warren Lincoln, MI – 2028 – The Family)
The 6'4” wing is a nice passer off live dribbles that also displayed he could be the finisher in pick/roll actions. Explosive leaper as the wiry wing threw down a couple of nasty dunks for 6 points.
Kevin Wheatley Jr (Brewster Academy – 2028 – PSA Cardinals)
Wheatley is one of the more impressive wings physically we saw on the night. He goes 6'6” and 201 pounds. Bucket getter as he started off with a massive slam then went to work with feathery jumpers from three along with the mid-range shot on the baseline. He had 8 points.
Benjamin Berrouet (Dynamic Prep, TX – 2028 – AB Elite)
The 6'6” 239 pound power forward is a strong bodied four man that plays with power above the rim. Threw down an array of nasty dunks including a windmill in traffic which was the top offensive play I saw on night one. Pounds the offensive glass for second chance points and is a one man wrecking crew running the floor in transition for dunks. He had 13 points.
Joshua Lindsay (St. Xavier, KY – 2028 – Mokan)
At 6'0” near 200 pounds Lindsay is a strong bodied bucket getter that gets to his spots and puts it in the hoop. Crisp pull up threes, snatches rebounds for a guard pushing in the open floor, and gets downhill to the rim. Plays with a ton of burst in the open floor while knowing how to use his strength. He had 13 points.
Aaron McMorran (Desert Pines, NV – 2028 – Utah Prospects)
McMorran made it to the STL on Monday and was firing right out of the gates! The southpaw showcased a slick handle and creativity with the rock in his hands. Used a ball screen to get to the cup for a scoop shot along with draining a corner three off movement. Went for 7 points.
