GBCA Live: 2029/30 Standouts

JoJo flashes great upside. He's a big, strong power wing that can go into the post for hoops or find points along the perimeter. Mighty has a soft touch. He uses his body to create mismatches, sealing deep in the post when smaller defenders guard him. JoJo passes well out of the post and off the dribble. He scored with a hook shot against Jonesboro and later added a floater to finish with 4 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. His production should spike over his next three seasons, a long-term stock riser.     Big Joe recorded 9 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block against Eastside. He scored on a drop step, a left-handed hook and a coast-to-coast dunk. As he did during Darlington's state championship run, Joseph made huge plays late against Eastside in a 38-33 win. He had a crucial And-1 step through move inside. Ogunyemi's impact is clear. His decision making is quickening and his skill level is growing.     Ethan caught my eye right away. Long and athletic on the perimeter, Mwiseneza has a terrific wingspan. He has the physical traits to be able to disrupt everything on the perimeter and to be an active shot alterer inside. Ethan hit three jumpers against Southwest-Macon, two from the high post and one from up closer. He tallied 6 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. I like his long-term future.     When David pieces everything together, he has a chance to become a top-level prospect. Whitaker is an elite athlete, probably the most explosive leaper in Georgia. When he lets his athleticism flow, there isn't much opponents can do to stop him. He is electric in transition, throwing down a pair of highlight slams in transition against North Cobb Christian. He had a skilled And-1 drive to close out his scoring, putting together 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Expanding his shooting range and cutting down on turnovers will help him reach his sky-high ceiling. By the time he is a senior, David could be the best two-way producer in Georgia.     Shaheem is a new face at Peach County. He is long and talented along the perimeter, part of a massive Trojan frontcourt. He's got great tools to become a 3&D type swingman. Against Commerce he nailed a corner three and found hoops in transition and off the glass. Barbosa racked up 12 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in an eight-point victory.     The prized jewel. After a sabbatical at CFCA repeating the eighth grade, the immense talent of freshman Josh Sanders was on display with Peach County at GBCA. Sanders is firmly on High Major radars. The 6-foot-10 lefty can score the ball from all over. He's got a pretty stroke out to the three-point line and has the mobility to cover tons of ground on defense. Keeping his motor revved up the full length of the game will allow him to be a game wreaker at all times. Sanders pitched in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block in a 72-64 win against Commerce.
