A quick 5-11 point guard who puts constant pressure on opposing teams on both ends of the floor, Spies had a really solid junior year, averaging 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. Perhaps most impressive, however, was his sterling 2.81 assist-to-turnover ratio. With the Blackhawks graduating all of the other eight rotation players from last year's 16-win team, Spies will be asked to do even more as a senior.

Despite the loss of junior-to-be big man [player_tooltip player_id='2523886' first='Ben' last='Wade'] to transfer, Regina figures to one of the best teams in Class 2A again this year. The key factor for them taking that next leap, however, could be the play of Nuzback. He had a good junior year, averaging 8.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, but if he can turn into a reliable 13-point scorer to provide some more perimeter scoring punch alongside the Regals' dynamic one-two punch in the paint, they could be very formidable. He's a really good athlete with length, size, and athleticism who can play downhill and knock down shots off the catch.

Knoblock was a strong role player for the Wildcats last season, averaging 5.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, but he's the type of big, athletic forward who could take a major leap and become a dominant two-way force for the 'Cats as a senior leader. He has really good hands, deft touch around the rim, and is a plus athlete who can defend multiple positions.

Perkins should step into a primary playmaking role this season for the Knights, who figure to be one of the most potent offensive teams in the class yet again. He's an intelligent lead guard who does a great job protecting the rock, posting a 2.53 assist-to-turnover ratio last season. He's a capable three-level scorer who posted 49-33-72 shooting splits as a junior, and he's a really solid on-ball defender. With a number of losses to graduation, Kuemper will have ample opportunity for Perkins to step up.

Scott Rucker has turned Treynor into one of the most consistently strong programs in Class 2A, and if that trend is going to continue in 2026-27, Kellar will need to be a player who takes a significant step forward. The Cardinals lost their top three, and five of their top seven, scorers to graduation so there will be plenty of opportunity for players like Kellar, a 5-8 guard who can really shoot it to step up and become big contributors. He buried just under 42% of his 3-point attempts as a junior.
