Brentwood Academy Impresses in Huntsville

He is not just fast for a big...James is fast for a high school dude regardless of height. His touch in traffic looked lovely too. Finished high with left-handed banks from 5' and right-handed banked layups in traffic. Humphreys showed an eagerness to pass, especially when a cutter flashed towards the basket as he posted. Elite high school rebounder inside his area. Facing Buckhorn BA flashed a little 2-2-1 fullcourt press with Humphreys serving as one of the front 2. His drop step is already advanced for a high school big man, as evidenced by his reception and drop-step in the first half against Buckhorn. So fluid. When a defending guard took a stab at a steal nearing midcourt Wade casually rotated with the dribble away from him . The defender lunged completely into the backcourt. Wade immediately identified the advantage and attacked the heart of the defense. Tuesday Elijah started for Brentwood Academy in Huntsville High as the Eagles battled Bob Jones High. Foster-Phillips will be playing off of the ball this winter thanks to All-State point guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2133797' first='Bryson' last='Wade']</strong>. The trapped managed his escape only by a kicking limb contacting the ball. Lucas held his extended arms and legs consistently as a nuisance as a trapper. One fun play occurred with less than a second remaining. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2910336' first='Eli' last='Klekamp'] </strong>hurtled the ball 75' to Graves. Graves realizing he did not have time to catch and shoot tipped it toward the hoop from 10' away. Left-handed combo guard is his role for Brentwood Academy this month. Nixon reminds a little bit of a young D'Angelo Russell in that he alternates speeds well. He goes from fast to slow in a split-second. Entering his sophomore year Hutch is almost certain to take the football path, but might be a contributor to the 20262-2027 basketball team too. [player_tooltip player_id='2543986' first='James' last='Humphreys'] will play as much as his endurance allows. At 6-foot-5 he probably needs to be a 2/3 beyond high school. Currently, he is a competent power forward. Brentwood Academy could utilize him as Humphrey's replacement or couple the two together. Klekamp was keenly aware of the basket on the catch each time. Facing the basket Klekamp was just as smooth with his feet. He made multiple difficult passes look easy. In the game against Buckhorn Klekamp found some possessions operating around the arc and he was fine. The offense was primarily run through passing, so I did not get to evaluate his ability to drive the ball to the basket. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
