This past weekend, Ridgewood High School hosted some of the top teams in the state at the 2nd NCAA Live event of June. Plenty of top level prospects took to the court to showcase their talents in front of a wide array of college coaches. In this article we will breakdown some top level 27' and 28' shooting guards that made impacts.    I've had the opportunity to see Tierney's game multiple times this spring travel season but this was the first time catching him with his new Hoffman Estates squad. The lengthy shooting guard didn't skip a beat as he fits right into the mix of another well coached Hoffman Estates team. He gets his shot off quickly and at a high clip as an efficient marksmen beyond the arc. He also provides deceptive athleticism for hard aggressive takes to the cup and earns trips to the free throw line after drawing contact. A wing that should continue to build stock and one to certainly keep tabs on through his senior campaign.       The team he plays on brings a high intensity and up pace style brand of basketball and Vanderkamp fits into the mix as a 2 or 3 man. I caught his squad play in the evening game on Friday and he provided stability at the off guard spot. He runs the floor with good pace, space, and fluidity to find open areas. His length and shooting abilities beyond the arc will bring defenses out to guard. He also secured a tough O board off of a free throw put back and converted on a back door cut for a reverse layup finish through traffic. A 2 sport athlete who will provide an extra layer of value for the Trevians     If you're looking for a knock down shooter at the next level, Grayson should be on your radar. Watched team's middle evening game on Saturday and the wing from Hyde Park went on a tear. There were some good shooting clinics put on by guys this weekend but his shot making ability would be at the top tier. I tallied him for 6 3's in the game with 1 being from NBA range. Doesn't need much time or space to let it fly because some of these were under 0 gap pressure. He can also go off the bounce into his shot with rhythmic feel. A true marksman that will see stock rise through senior year.     My first time seeing the shooting guard from St. Patrick's play live. Czeslawski is a confident perimeter marksman with a smooth and repeatable stroke. He knocked down multiple spot-up threes as well as walking into one off the bounce in silky fashion. Czeslawski plays with a hard nosed competitive approach on both sides. Defensively he attacks closeouts with purpose and will sacrifice his body to take charges. He also will put it on the deck to get downhill with speed to help collapse defenses. His combination of shooting touch and toughness provides team with value components.     Alvarez provides 2 way production in an efficient manner. He is a knockdown shooter and can break apart a game in a quick way with his perimeter feel. On his handle he is deceptively quick off the bounce and will attack on tight gaps. He converted on an and1 tough finish in heavy traffic against more size and also had a couple other finishes at the cup. Selflessly he shares it effectively creating for teammates and having timely drive and kick reads after drawing help. His movement off the ball was evidenced by a backdoor cut and conversion. Defensively Alvarez sacrifices his body for charges against bigger sized bodies which swings momentum in a hurry. Most importantly he brings a lot of passion and energy to the game and his high motor provides consistent impact on both ends.     I saw Turner compete in team's mid afternoon Saturday game against another high caliber team. The matchup was really up tempo from the git go and he settled in quickly hitting a couple 3's and speeding ahead of the defense for a breakaway bucket. He possesses plus length and runs the sidelines well filling a wing spot. I liked his ability to continuously stretch the defense out while competing against the same or more height at his position. He hit his last 3 of the game from NBA range at a crucial point to narrow the margin to 1 possession. His smooth release with his height will continue to present a challenge on the perimeter for teams.
