<p>One of the most anticipated weekends on the grassroots basketball calendar kicked off during the May Live Period last weekend and definitely delivered. As college coaches returned to the gym for their first in person evaluations of the spring, the atmosphere was energized and the competition was intense throughout the weekend. Under Armour's second session in Hamilton, OH showcased a loaded slate of high level matchups and elite talent from across the nation, with several New Jersey prospects standing out along the way. With that in mind, here's a closer look at some of the top performers from Session II of the UAA circuit.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Establishing himself as a true offensive centerpiece, [player_tooltip player_id='2884536' first='Evan' last='Wells'] continued to serve as a highly effective offensive hub particularly through his blend of size and versatile inside out production. Rare for a player at his position and a unique strength of his, Wells consistently stretched defenses with his dangerous perimeter shooting ability, ultimately forcing opposing bigs to step outside the paint. Thriving it different actions as a legitimate floor spacer, Wells showcased a quick and confident shooting release and an exceptionally soft touch from the outside. Along with his perimeter impact, Wells complemented that perimeter ability with strength and physicality inside, finishing through contact around the rim while also contributing in the rebounding department. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2421370' first='David' last='Buley'] made his presence felt as a reliable interior contributor making his presence felt in the paint, ultimately showcasing his touch and efficiency around the basket. He thrived as a target near the rim ultimately capitalizing off advantageous scoring opportunities inside. In addition, Buley was also extremely active in the rebounding department and provided strong rebounding production, winning battles for offensive rebounds and securing defensive possessions consistently. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">A skilled young guard with strong instincts and legitimate ball skills, [player_tooltip player_id='2633990' first='Clint' last='Martin'] continues to an intricate piece to the success of this 15U UAA NJ Shoreshots group— particularly with his ability to put pressure on the basket while also finding a nice rhythm from three point range. Showing improved strength and efficiency as a finisher, Martin once again looked increasingly comfortable absorbing contact and navigating traffic in the paint, repeatedly finding ways to pressure the defense inside finishing around the rim from multiple angles. The most impressive part of Martin's showing this weekend however was the moments he had as an outside shooter— shooting the three ball at a impressively efficient clip and proving to be a respectable threat from the perimeter. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Possessing a combination of positional size and length coupled with effort and energy on the interior, [player_tooltip player_id='2983866' first='Joshua' last='Mackintosh'] stood out with his inside activity— standing out the most using his imposing size, exceptional length, and relentless motor to to win box outs and battles on the boards dominating with strength and physicality as an active and effective area rebounder. All while also showing some strong flashes of his finishing ability around the basket. </p>

<p>Over the course of this past weekend's action, [player_tooltip player_id='2884535' first='Ryan' last='Gannon'] once again proved himself to be a well rounded point guard who consistently adds value by simply playing the game the right way. He stood out with his poise and confidence as a ball handler, rarely allowing opposing pressure to speed him up and maintaining a controlled pace that allowed him to read and react to the defense, complemented by a tight handle that rarely put him in danger of losing the ball. Gannon also showed a layer of craftiness in his game displaying soft touch and composure when finishing around the basket after getting into the lane, consistently making the right reads as both a scorer and facilitator by balancing scoring from multiple levels with creating opportunities for teammates.</p>
