Few players caught my eye at the Sunshine State Surge like Mison Ware. Ware is a true three-level scorer who gets to his spots with ease with his explosive first step and controlled pace. It seemed as if Ware was never under pressure and was always in control, regardless of who was in front of him. When attacking the rim Mison was truly in his element, connecting on a variety of tough finishes through contact and utilizing his soft lefty floater to get easy buckets. Mison was a consistent double-digit scorer all weekend and a player to watch out for heading into only his junior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='3614201' first='Elijah' last='Melton']'s ability to protect the rim was on full display throughout the tournament with numerous highlight reel rejections at the rim. In his first game of day 1, the forward posted a total of 7 blocks, establishing the paint as a “no-fly zone”. Yet, while the counting stats were in his favor, his ability to alter shots was more importantly, his best trait. Forcing opposing players to take lower-quality shots every time they came inside. It came as no surprise to see his Future Elite 16U team finish 4-0, due to his contributions, and I look forward to seeing how his game develops as the summer progresses.

If you are looking for highlight-reel level athleticism, look no further than the [program_tooltip program_id='3258867' first='Riverview' last='Sonics']' [player_tooltip player_id='3563909' first='Niko' last='Joseph']. Joseph is an exceptional athlete who possesses explosiveness both vertically and laterally. As a help-side defender, Niko turned what looked to be routine layups into emphatic blocks, erasing what should've been an easy two points. Joseph also has an incredible motor, which was on full display every possession he was on the floor. Joseph would routinely turn his highlight reel blocks into outlet passes before sprinting down the floor and looking to throw down thunderous slams, an effort level that is rare amongst high school athletes.

FSCE Hoop Nightmare possessed a secret weapon on their bench in the form of Armwood High School's [player_tooltip player_id='2827591' first='Kavaris' last='Hamilton']. Hamilton is a springy guard who can throw down some monstrous dunks in transition and exciting putbacks in the half-court. Hamilton was a weapon who showcased great versatility as a primary facilitator, a shot creator, and even a roll-man in the dunker spot. Kavaris' ability and willingness to embrace different roles was a joy to watch, which was amplified even more by his tremendous effort and competitive attitude. Be sure to keep an eye out on [player_tooltip player_id='2827591' first='Kavaris' last='Hamilton']!

From Game 1, [player_tooltip player_id='3583483' first='Lance' last='Stallworth'] showcased his ability to rebound the basketball. Stallworth possesses great anticipation and timing on the glass, which allowed him to secure numerous offensive rebounds for his squad throughout the weekend. Stallworth's 6'6 frame and pogo stick jumps make him a formidable rebounder even against taller, less mobile defenders, who he can take advantage of out on the perimeter. While Stallworth does not typically man the middle, his versatility over the weekend shows his ability to guard almost any position or player on the floor. A key asset to any basketball program.
