2028 Summer Stock Risers: Point Guards

With the summer grassroots season nearly complete and most evaluations done until the fall, the Class of 2028 is gaining more attention and recruitment from college coaches. Several prospects elevated their stock with strong performances throughout the June and July live recruiting periods. Here is a look at a handful of point guards in the 2028 class who did the most to boost their recruiting profile this summer.    The new transfer to Oak Ridge High School starred for the Florida Rebels at the Peach Jam averaging over 21 points per game. The rising junior is a quick, attacking, scorer at the lead guard position. He is very difficult for defenders to stay in front of and is not just a scorer. He sees the floor and can find open teammates as well. Expect Maurice to be one of the state's top point guards in the 2028 recruiting class.     Gillard finished the summer with A1 Elite on the Puma Pro 16 circuit. He is a shifty lead guard who is very good with the basketball in his hands and is a reliable decision maker. He is a solid and improving perimeter shooter and has a chance to be a promising prospect in the 2028 recruiting class.     The Bartow prospect continued his strong offseason in June with the Yellow Jackets and in Nike's EYBL with the Florida Rebels. The rising junior is aggressive, athletic, scoring lead guard who continues to improve as a perimeter shooter. He can create his own offense off the dibble, is a creative finisher in the paint and plays with toughness.     Tucker is a skilled lead guard who can score at all the levels from the point guard position. He is a solid perimeter shot maker and a creative finisher in the paint. The rising junior has a good feel for the game, knows how to use ball screens and continues to add physical strength which will help him at both ends of the floor.     Mullins announced a move to Wellington Sports Academy for the 2026-27 season. The rising junior is a speedy, skilled lead guard who is very good with the basketball in his hands. He has impressive court vision for a young prospect and can find open teammates. Expect Mullins to continue to climb our 2028 player rankings.
