Prep Hoops Indiana made the trip out to Kansas City for Nike EYBL Session III. With it not being a live period it made for a much quieter, easier to navigate gymnasium which is a perfect setting for getting evaluations done. Obviously, we have seen all of these players in the past as well, but it was good to get to see them play at such a high level. Let's empty out the notebook and share some thoughts on some of the top prospects that we got the chance to watch at Nike EYBL Session III in Kansas City.

This Meanstreets 15u squad is both very talented and very balanced without anyone consistently putting up huge scoring numbers. Clay Jr. is one of several guards who contributed to a pair of wins over the weekend in Kansas City. The Gary West Side High School freshman played his best game on Sunday when we were in attendance for a win over Brad Beal Elite. In that matchup Clay Jr. finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds rebounds. He knocked in a deep corner jump shot, attacked the rim for an athletic And-1, and consistently helped on the glass. Clay Jr. is a steadying presence on the floor that contributes to winning in a variety of ways.

Considered one of the top prospects in the state of Kentucky, Mitchell's playmaking and all-around offensive skill were on full display with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 16u in Kansas City. He averaged 20.0 points and 4.5 assists per game which included a massive 29-point, 9-assists performance in a win on Saturday. Mitchell hit the game-winner in that matchup as well. There is a lot to like about his offensive skill set.

The physical strength and ability to score inside stands out right away when you watch Orem play. He makes good, strong post moves with excellent footwork inside. Orem, a Great Crossing High School sophomore, had some big games in Kansas City for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 16u finishing the weekend averaging 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He is a guy that you can run set plays for to throw it to him inside.

Pippins continues to dominate around the basket showcasing some special athleticism, physicality, and strength. He can play through a lot of contact and simply whips opponents on the offensive glass consistently. The 6'5" forward from Cathedral High School was excellent for UNRNKD Hoops 17u in EYCL action in Kansas City. His best performance came on Monday when he finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds to cap off a 3-1 weekend for UNRNKD. Small college programs should be all over him heading into the summer months.

You won't find many pure shot-makers like [player_tooltip player_id='2194461' first='Austin' last='Sears']. The 6'1" guard from Montgomery County High School shot 40.0% from three-point range on nearly four attempts per game at EYBL Session III. We saw him go 3-3 from deep and score 20 points in a win over Meanstreets on Sunday. Sears is absolutely one of the best shooters in the state of Kentucky and has had a great spring for Brad Beal Elite 16u.

College programs should not make the mistake of overlooking Wells heading into the summer months. He checks so many boxes as a 6'5"-6'6" guard with a strong build and catch-and-shoot ability on the perimeter. The Lawrence Central High School junior hasn't put up big numbers with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 17u through the spring, but he hit a couple of big shots in their win on Monday. Division I programs will want to get eyes on him with his high school team in June.
