Seeing over 20 teams in 2 days makes it very tough to put together an All-Tournament Team, so I've gone in the direction of an All-Star Team. It's really just a change of words, but with an All-Star team I simply list 5 players that were some of the biggest stars that I watched play at the event over the weekend. These 5 players stood out for their performances at the Mitten State Mash when I was watching.

Long was nothing short of outstanding at the Mitten State Mash. He was very active on the boards on both ends of the floor. Long did a great job chasing down the rebound. He didn't just establish position and wait. He read the ball off the rim and went and got it. Long was shifty around the bucket. His soft feet and control with the ball allowed him to go up and around defenders near the rim. Long term I could see him stretching out to a 3 or a combo F at the next level.

Davis was tremendous over the weekend. Just looking at his numbers doesn't do his game influence justice. When I watched him play at the event, he was simply taking over the paint. Davis was able to alter shots with just his presence near the rim. He was able to earn good looks on the offensive end with soft touch with a spin and finish over the right shoulder.

Hartsock was a bucket at the Mitten State Mash. Yeah, he was a good shooter, but it was much more than that. Hartsock found the soft spots in the defense and took advantage of them. Give him the 3? He showed he'll hit it. Leave the middle of floor open? He'll flash to it and score from the mid range. Play off of him and he'll attack off the bounce. And it goes on.

Smith had a super showing at the Mitten State Mash. The young man just does things that lead to wins. He's about 6-3 or 6-4 and not a post player, but easily 1 of the best rebounders in the gym over the weekend. Smith has a nose for the ball off the rim and usually just wants it more. Smith can score as well, but does so in an efficient manner. He doesn't have to be shot heavy to get his.

Willis was scorching the nets when I saw him play for the Cincy Reapers. Easily 1 of the most dangerous shooters and scorers in the gym. Willis was a fearless shooter that needed very little space due to his quick and smooth release. He was also solid and smart with the ball. Willis could advance it like a PG and shoot it like a high scoring wing.

Seeing over 20 teams in 2 days makes it very tough to put together an All-Tournament Team, so I've gone in the direction of an All-Star Team.
