About a month now into the spring, AAU season is fully in the swing of things. With most programs having a number of tournaments competed in under their belt, teams are beginning to take shape and prospects are beginning to set themselves apart with hot starts. The last weekend in the month of April saw MADE Hoops host its NYC Clash in New York, NY.
A legitimate two way impact point guard who is adept at generating paint touches and sets the tone on defense by pressuring the ball the length of the floor, [player_tooltip player_id='2786681' first='Cam' last='White'] proved to be a difference making floor general. Throughout MADE's NYC Clash, White showed potent passing feel and court vision, especially in the open floor and when attacking on drives, when reading help defense and finding open teammates. White also showcased his craftiness off the bounce to get into the lane, pairing that with soft touch on runners and mid range area pull ups. All while also demonstrating solid decision making by effectively making the right reads out of different PnR actions.

A confident and aggressive scoring guard who's perimeter shot making is often times the catalyst for a lot of his loud scoring performances, [player_tooltip player_id='2875236' first='Jayden' last='Lau'] showcased so much of that outside scoring while also mixing in some tough and physical finishing ability at the basket. A diverse scoring approach throughout the weekend saw Lau not only burry looks creating separation off the bounce paired with deep range accuracy from well beyond the three point line to shoot it just as well as he does as an off the bounce shooter as he does as a spot up shooter off the catch but also mixing in some tough finishes through contact and in traffic when driving angles opened up for him off the bounce.

A dynamic offensive threat who possesses instinctive scoring ability and developing facilitating feel, [player_tooltip player_id='2948559' first='Jayden' last='Opoku'] showed really strong flashes of his unpredictable offensive attack— using his creativity and pace off the bounce to put pressure on the rim, showcasing slick and crafty finishing from different angles in traffic at the basket while also flashing his perimeter shot making ability. All while also showing additional encouraging signs as a distributor, getting deep in the paint and reading help defense to spray out to outside shooters and advancing the ball up the floor to his teammates up for easy looks at the basket. On top of that, Opoku also showed flashes of his defensive intensity, leveraging his physical tools to force a number of deflections and generate blocks.

Widely regarded as one of the more dangerous shooters here in the state of New Jersey, [player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler']'s weekend at MADE's NYC Clash highlighted a more in depth glimpse in the development of diversifying his overall floor game. Picking his spots off the bounce and scoring from different levels on the floor, Redler showcased an expanded scoring approach— navigating PnR actions to get to smooth mid range pull ups, pushing the tempo in transition for crafty layups at the rim all while reaffirming his reputation as a dead eye perimeter shooter, knocking down open looks with efficiency and long range accuracy as both a spot up and movement shooter.

A confident and fiery guard who routinely proves to be a seamless offensive fit and being productive at either guard spot, Anthony Mauro continued his hot start to the spring with another impressive performance at MADE's NYC Clash— a showing that showcased efficient perimeter spot up shooting while also getting in the lane to convert on different soft touch runners and crafty layups from different angles. All while also showing some pretty solid flashes of his strong ball handling and court vision to create drive and kick opportunities for his teammates and find open bigs down low.

Proving to be a reliable contributor as an optimal floor spacer from the guard position, Nicky Mejia found a nice rhythm from three point range as the weekend wained. Mejia's value proved to be in the versatility he possesses as a confident perimeter shot maker— shooting the three ball at an efficient clip as a spot up shooter just as effectively as he does as a movement shooter, all with deep range accuracy as well.
